Thankyou Chairman Dean for building party infrastructure for a 50 state strategy.
Edited on Thu Nov-08-07 11:23 AM by blm
Democrats had a strong showing last Tuesday in states that the previous party chairs ignored and left to collapse since the mid90s.

Chairman Dean knew that it wasn't so much Dem CANDIDATES losing as much as the weakness of the state parties in too many states being allowed to remain in conditions TOO WEAK to compete and secure the election process against the machine maintained by the RNC.

Every candidate for their party has to tap into the party infrastructure that EXISTS.

For instance, when Gore became the nominee, he had access to the state party infrastructures that EXISTED in May 2000. In too many crucial states like Ohio and Florida, the Dem party was in a state of collapse and too weak to counter the RNC machine when it came to every level where voters were allowed, or where votes were being cast and counted. You could go to a number of counties in some states and not even FIND a Dem party HQ office or find a tiny, unequipped office if you did locate one.

Same thing in 2002 and 2004.

Dean saw the weaknesses in party infrastructure firsthand while he was a primary candidate in 2003-4. The targeted state strategy was assuring losses because the RNC's machine was going UNCOUNTERED in too many states.

Dean has been changing all that and I just wanted to note my thanks as a Democrat. Some of those elections last Tuesday would have been lost if Dean and many of US grassroots Dems hadn't taken the initiative to REBUILD those long collapsed state parties.

I didn't want this momentous week to go by without saying....

Thank you Chairman Dean.

6. Yep - we learned SO MUCH in the hearings on 2000's rampant election fraud.
Hard to understand how in hell 2002 and 2004 the RNC was left unchecked and uncountered on their use of every dirty trick in the book to control the election process at every level they did.

and have been trying every way they can to push Dean out of his position.

15. I heard there were red counties that turned blue in 2004.
I think the 2004 election and the debates were the beginning of the red states opening their eyes.

17. Well, NoVa has been trending blue big time, but I don't know honestly
precisely what year it happened. A friend of mine was part of the effort that turned R seats to D's in Loudon County.

23. BLM, this is so nice to see. I remember our heated primary battles about Dean v Kerry.
Indeed, Dean is a visionary who has done an amazing job of helping us take back our Party. Now, on to our Country (with Dean's help o'course.)

28. Amen! Thank you Chairman Dean!
I loved The Daily Show when Jon was mocking him for the "door hangers" and then eating his words a few weeks later after the November elections. What Howard Dean said in that second show was "We are asking the American people for their vote, something that hasn't been done in a long time.." and I paraphrase but that was the general comment.

Now, let's ask this, what would happen if, let's just suppose, that if James Carville were to take the chair - he's drooling over it and if Clinton gets the nod, it wouldn't be a stretch that he would get it - how long before all the dedicated hard work the Good Doctor has done would be striped away? Just asking...

in this primary. Then THEY will take all the credit for 2008 and the party infrastructure that Dean worked to rebuild for the FOUR YEARS prior to election day, while they push the idea that ONLY TeamClinton can win for Democrats.

I am certain that Gore OR Kerry would have won by landslides had the DNC set up by Bill Clinton done their actual job half as well as Dean has instead of overseeing the collapse of party infrastructures in so many states like Ohio and Florida.
