The rush to condemn Obama for not voting on AG when Hillary did the same thing. . .
. . .shows what is up at DU. I fully expect the usual suspects to tell me why Obama's not voting makes it worse. The DU has just become a place where its fashionable to stop at nothing to bash the other guy or girl.

1. It seems Reid moved the vote up. It surprised several Senators
Dodd and Biden weren't there either.

6. I get the feeling Reid's intent...
...was to make sure none of the Democratic presidential candidates would be able to vote on this, and hence wouldn't have their vote made into a campaign issue.

If so, it doesn't seem to have worked around here.

8. Exactly, its the Clinton strategy. Manufacture outrage towards Obama. . .
. . .that is how they do. I actually won't criticize them for it. If Barack wins the nomination he needs to use similar tactics against the GOP and if Hillary wins I'm glad she pulls no punches. But until we have a nominee I will hate it.

28. Please don't call other DUérs names..
when you refer to them as "Hill's Shills" it is intended to be derogatory. I can certainly understand your frustration when it comes to the smearing of a candidate, but aside from it being a violation of the rules, I think we've got enough negative behavior going these days. I wish this primary season was over and we could all go back to focusing our anger at the repukes!

reason, decided to single out Obama for being absent for the vote, therefore the DUer started the thread with that as the source. I am sure if the same source only mentioned Hillary as being absent the same Obama supporters feigning outrage would have jumped all over it and started a thread screeching about Hillary being absent, so SPARE ME!! :eyes:

Most of this feigned outrage is stupid anyway. This has been something that Obama opponents have previously criticized him for doing. This played into their narrative of Obama and they ran with it.

15. That is petty stuff, and very transparent
When Feinstein and Schumer said they would vote to approve, it didn't matter
who was there from the Democrats and who was not. If two Democrats defect and
no Republicans do, we're screwed. It's that simple. If Obama had shown up with
a clone and voted twice, it wouldn't have changed the outcome (same goes for Hillary).

20. It is what makes DU criticism of any candidate, not just Obama, very seriously. . .
. . .I support Obama but can be happy with all Democratic nominees, there is legitimate criticism of all candidates however on DU even legitimate criticism is carried out in a manor that is not meant to be constructive but to bash.

I had not seen the thread, but it is clearly a bash Obama thread and I alerted on it. I posted as much as I could on that thread, too, to set the record straight. The smearing of Obama is way out of line. I'm giving my support to Biden in the primaries, but I don't want to see any candidate smeared like that.

attack Obama, and then defend Clinton.

They all should've voted. The Obama thread was started a few hours before the vote when it was reported he wouldn't attend. I didn't see any reporting that Clinton wouldn't be there.

Literally within a minute of learning she wasn't there (along with Biden and Dodd), I started a thread faulting her, too.
