People who accuse Hillary Clinton of milking today's incident for political gain
wish that their candidate was important enough for some crazy person to try to pull some insane stunt against.

Don't be a player-hater; it makes you look all sorry.

5. Cripes
I HOPE every Dem candidate can respond well and look good when "things happen". Do we want Dems to take it on the chin or sink low every time something, anything, happens? We have a corporate media doing that cheap shot job, no need in the slightest for us to be incredibly stupid. I want my candidate to win over the others at their best. Otherwise there is an unearned gain for the GOP from OUR process.

it is a needed reminder that all our Dems are quality people. The suspension of most sniping during the incident shows that in essence, despite the intentions of many to "dish it out" we are quality Dems too.

Now enough with the crazy guy on Fox. Let's get back to the flame wars and pretend we are big many mean campaign activists.

7. I agree. We should try to be a bit sensitive. We may not support HRC but, we
need to show solidarity today. I saw 5 young adults who could have died tragically.
Can't we just put aside the fighting for awhile and just be together for awhile and show some heart.

35. Did you ever think that comments like this:

Is why there is so much discourse? Really, get over yourself, not one vote has been cast as of yet, but, please, enlighten me if the Primary is over and I missed it.

18. I've been gone off the boards since this morning.....
But I don't believe that Hillary "used" anything. If she had remained silent, she'd be accused of doing a "Bush" who took his time prior to saying anything about 9/11.

I agree. Those who accuse Hillary of anything untowards based on this crazy incident are really stooping to a new low, if that's possible! :eyes:

26. Maybe you could take a minute to be a decent human being, Perry.
Edited on Sat Dec-01-07 09:26 AM by tom_paine
You know, I could give a shit about who gets publicity or who is beating who in the face of something like this.

A fucking nutball took innocent people hostage and was threatening their lives. I am happy the people are safe, that no one got hurt or killed, and the hostage-taker is in custody. Period.

Now, maybe you wish to accuse me of being a phony holier-than-thou and an insincere bastard who's using reverse psychology to try to scare up support for my candidate

but whatever happened to simple human decency? Not everything is about politics, marketing and publicity, all the wrong things we worship at the altar of the television, today in 21st Century America.

And not everybody who holds a position does it for ulterior and unpleasant motives.

I don't know what else to say. Go ahead and flame me. Attack my fucking text formatting or my typing or whatever else you like. I said my piece, now you can go ahead and rip me as a desperate asshole Edwards supporter trying to get on with my Hillary Hatin'.

24. I thought your post was for good intentions at first...
...but it seems you want to rub the horrible event (that fortunately ended up fairly well) in people's faces.

Why the hell did you do that? I thought 99% of people saw the event as a tragic event and held respect for those affected and were relieved that it ended up pretty well.

You, however, seem to want to play a passive/aggressive sociopathic role in this.

Get some help.

They were operating on a base level so I decided to go down to theirs to smack them is all. The funny thing about this is that I like Obama better than Clinton, I'm just not very anti-Clinton.

I'm highest on Kucinich, always have been. I've always been hopeful for Obama, too, as well as Hillary, but when it comes to the slanderous shit that's hurled Hillary's way, I find myself defending her so much from the liars who spew their venom that I've actually grown to like her more and more.

Edited on Sat Dec-01-07 09:15 AM by tom_paine
Shouldn't you be posting this on FR? And no, I don't mean I suspect you of being a Secret Freeper , I mean you should open an account over there and post this.

Even if there is (and with thousands of people posting here statistically it is highly likely that their is a little of that talk going on) some of that going on here, posting that thread here at DU is like a park ranger scolding a litterbug while 50 yards away a guy with a flamethrower is gratuitously setting stands of trees on fire and laughing insanely.

So, I tell you what LoZoccolo (and we have had many fine conversations on this board, so please don't think I am slamming you wholesale, but I cannot let this go by with answerin because I think you are dead wrong on this one), why don't you show us that you're willing to take on the people who are REALLY 90% of the source of this kind of talk, I guarantee you, and post this in one of their forums...or how about a big conversation board that has all sides represented?

You are wrong on this one. 100% wrong, and that's not easy to do. Even if a handful of DU people are spewing that kind of odious sentiment, your anger is misdirected, to say the least.
