Call For Urgent Action : Special Congressional Election December 11th.
Robin Weirauch,for U.S Congress... OH-05 District.

http://www.robinweirauch.com/

She lost to Paul Gilmore, (R) incumbent by 2% margin in 06. Now Paul Gilmore has passed away. A Special Election has been scheduled for December 11th.

Supported by the Ohio Nurse Democratic Caucus!

We Americans have a unique opportunity to help elect a Democrat, Robin Weirauch, to represent Ohio's 5th Congressional District in Congress on December 11. The 5th Congressional District covers (whole or part of) the counties of: Ashland, Crawford, Defiance, Fulton, Henry, Huron, Lucas, Mercer, Paulding, Putnam, Sandusky, Seneca, Van Wert, Williams, Wood, and Wyandot.

Even if you do not live in one of these counties, or even in Ohio, this race is important to you. The Democratic House can pass legislation but does not have the votes to override a Presidential veto.

This special election is taking place due to the unexpected death of Representative Paul Gillmor creating an open seat. Robin has previously run for this seat and last election garnered 43% of the vote running against long time incumbent Gillmor.

Robin Weirauch has served the community by founding a chapter of the Humane Society in Henry County, volunteering as a first responded EMT with the Napoleon Fire Department and serving as court appointed special advocate for children in Henry County. Her professional experience at the Center for Regional Development at Bowling Green State University has provided insight into creating jobs. She obtained both undergraduate and graduate degrees at Bowling Green. Several of Robin's family members are nurses.

Governor to join campaign trail with Weirauch

COLUMBUS - Gov. Ted Strickland will join 5th District congressional candidate Robin Weirauch on the campaign trail for the first time tomorrow, the first test of just how long the Democratic governor's coattails are.

During a visit to the American Standard Co. factory in Tiffin that has been threatened with closure and trips to other events in Bucyrus, Fremont, Norwalk, and Northwood, Ms. Weirauch will attempt to paint herself with the same brush as the popular governor.

The Napoleon Democrat is running in the Dec. 11 special election against state Rep. Bob Latta (R., Bowling Green) for the seat left vacant by the September death of Paul Gillmor.

Mr. Latta also will campaign in Tiffin on Saturday, participating in a parade and appearing with Mr. Gillmor's widow, Karen, a candidate next year for the Ohio Senate seat to be vacated by term-limited Sen. Larry Mumper (R., Marion). The Latta campaign did not provide immediate details on the candidate's schedule.

Ms. Weirauch and Mr. Strickland are scheduled to attend a rally at the Bucyrus Central Square at 9:45 a.m. tomorrow

Dems pulling together :kick:

FYI, here is an email Wes sent to his supporters:

Pouring rain. 10-hour long lines. A final margin of just 2%. This was Ohio in 2004.

But one year before any votes are cast in the general election, we have a chance to send a message to voters in Ohio and across the country: 2008 will not be 2004.

Robin Weirauch is running for the open seat in Ohio's 5th congressional district. Voters will be hitting the ballot box in less than two weeks on December 11.

A victory in OH-5 will send a message across Ohio and America that voters are ready to turn the page on George W. Bush and the Republicans. Contribute to Robin's campaign today!

As the daughter of a retired Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force, Robin will do more than simply repeat slogans like "Support the Troops." She will fight to bring a responsible end to the war in Iraq and make sure our veterans receive the health care they deserve.

A former Emergency Medical Technician and the wife of a retired police officer, Robin has honest middle class values. She understands the critical issues for working-class people such as education, fair trade policies, and bringing good jobs back to Northwest Ohio. She will ensure that all Americans have access to the opportunities that will help them and their children succeed in the 21st Century.

Northwest Ohio and Congress need Robin's strong, honest, independent voice.

Give Robin the final push she needs to win this seat for Democrats and give us the momentum we need heading into the 2008 elections!

Like many of the races I've asked you to help with in the past, this is a tough district. It's a Republican district, but as I've said before, we've got to compete everywhere. Republican districts can become Democratic districts. Republican states can become Democratic states. But only if we contest the seats.

I remember campaigning last year in Montana with Jon Tester, standing with Jim Webb in Virginia, and barnstorming some of the reddest Congressional districts in the final days of the 2006 elections. With you by my side, we changed the map.

We have the chance to do it again. Bush won this district by 20 points in 2004, but in 2006, Governor Ted Strickland and Senator Sherrod Brown carried it for Democrats. Now in this special election, just 13 days away, Robin Weirauch can win Ohio's 5th district...with your help.

Please rush a contribution to Robin in these final days before the special election on December 11.

You are helping to change our country, and I can't thank you enough for all you do.

Regards,

Wes Clark
