When someone says something to him, it is because he is running for POTUS, not because of the color of his skin.

Just like when Edwards goes after Hillary, it's because she is the frontrunner - NOT because she is a woman.

If you can't understand that, I feel for you.

1. Biden says stupid shit
When somebody says that he has said something stupid, yet again, it's not because he is running for POTUS, it's because he says stupid shit.

2. Is it not true that
he is of mixed racial heritage? Doesn't make a difference to me, most importantly he's a democrat, but should he be referred as black?

14. There are lots of "black" people who have mixed genetic backgrounds.
More than a couple "white" people, too, I suspect. Just take a look at the natives of Africa (or Sweden) and then take a look at the average black or white person in America. Obama's genetic blending is just one generation old as opposed to 5-10.

5. Biden has a history. I like him. I don't think he's a racist
but he has a history of saying tone deaf things concerning race. He's had to apologize for it on a couple of occasions. I agree that Edwards going after Clinton is based solely on her ranking in the race, but if you don't think that Obama's and Clinton's runs haven't stirred up a lot of latent racism and sexism- including here- I feel for you.

7. Biden sucks but he was NOT being patronizing, racist, or insensitive.
He thought Barrie would have great life experience in regard to civil rights, discrimination, and fairness.

This whole controvery is stupid.

P.S. And I repeat, I do NOT like Biden. Cannot stand the man. But he's getting a really bad rap on this one.

15. Hey! I agree!
And I DO like Biden. And, if I remember correctly, often disagree with your posts :-). But this whole thing just shows that a lot of us (me included today) just do not have anything better to waste our time on.

8. Guess what? Biden is losing

and one reason why many long-time Democrats haven't considered him as their first choice is because of his propensity for the self-inflicted verbal wound. Last night was a relatively mild example of such, but more evidence of the same.

13. Bush's main problem wasn't lack of experience
we've had plenty of presidents with similar lack of experience on one level or another. The problem is Bush is an idiot who CAN'T learn from mistakes because his ego won't let him admit mistakes.

9. Perhaps the color of Obama's skin....
isn't the real problem. Maybe it's the thickness of it. Or lack there of.

12. Obama hasn't said one thing about Biden's comments.
Not the one last night, and not the one about how "clean" and "articulate" Obama is. Maybe you should stop projecting what people here are saying onto the candidate himself.

16. As far as I know you are correct
and it definitely increased my (already high) opinion of Obama. He could have used it, he did not, he is smart and has class. This whole thing is a meaningless artificial controversy. It also seems limited to DU and maybe some other similar virtual meeting grounds, I did not really check...
