Friends,
As most of you know I will be traveling to Reno, Nevada soon to go to work on the Obama campaign. In fact, my plane leaves Thursday the 13th. I am sacrificing a lot to do this because I believe in this campaign more than any other I have ever worked on. Barack represents everything I have ever wanted in a politician and more. If you read his book, "The Audacity of Hope", you'll see that he has already laid out a great set of ideas on how to reform this country's broken political system. Not only that but he has solid liberal/Democratic ideals. He is the only candidate I have ever heard actually talk about reforming our political system so that congressmen from across both isles can come to compromise over a game of cards again, or the fact that we need to bring back real debate to both houses of Congress. This is just a glimpse of some of the reasons why I am moving to Reno in mid-winter, to work an unpaid internship for the Barack Obama Campaign.
2008 is a must for us. We must make change now. When I say that, I don't just mean we need to beat Clinton, or beat the Republicans, we need to reform this country. I think we all see this country going on the wrong track, but it has been going on for too long and now we are about to go off the cliff. If you can't see that, you are blind.
I am 17. We all know that our political system is broken. Recently this has made me think about giving up on politics. Barack Obama is the only person that has given me hope. His ideas and campaign rhetoric make me want to stay in this country when I think about moving to England or Canada. He makes me want to stay and fight.
So now I ask you for money... we have 30 days till Iowa. We all know that if you don't do real well in Iowa you are done. If you can donate to Barack now, over the Internet, he will not have to travel outside of key states like Iowa, NH, SC, and NV, to fund raise in this key month.
