I think timing might work our perfectly for Edwards
Hillary comes out with a big lead then everyone attacks her and she starts making mistakes then starts to drop. Now Obama is starting to pull ahead and now everyone will start going negative on him and perhaps he might start losing support. That leaves Edwards to start surging perhaps just at the right time? It's never good to peak too early!

I guess we will have to see.

2. So, he moves up by default, not on his own merit...
and you see that as a good thing? I'd rather move up on my own merit, not at the downfall of my competitors...but that's just me.

5. He should get some credit for good strategy, and saving it for the end.

9. While I respect your passion-

There are a lot of us that have seen him, listened to him on the issues he sees as important to America, and we believe in the messege.

There are a lot of us here, and a lot of other people out there who think he's doing great, and his strategy is sound.

12. With all due respect, I rejected him.
I was once a BIG fan of John's. That is, until he started tallking. I wanted him to run so bad a few years ago, and after I heard what he was offering, I didn't buy it. So I did give him a chance, and he failed to meet my expectations.

On edit; It's a good thing he stopped attacking Hillary when he did though. At least people have had a chance to forget about it all.

19. That's not very helpful! Wouldn't you like to try to persuade readers that you have something to say
Edited on Thu Dec-13-07 12:43 AM by 1932
worth considering?

If this is something you've really thought hard about, I would think that you could give me an example of something he has said, and then make a good argument why it isn't believable.

21. No, not really. I have no desire to do that.
I hate exercises in futility. I won't change anyone's mind, you won't change mine, and therefore, it would be a huge waste of time.

Good Luck to John.

25. What are you doing at DU then? If it's an exercise in futility to make persuasive arguments
supported by facts, then it's really got to be a total waste of time to post poor arguments unsupported by anything but personal opinion?

I kind of feel the same way about Biden, but this is the first time I've said it here.

4. It all comes down to tomorrow's debate, for Edwards.
He needs to shine tomorrow, and he'll do what you say he'll do. Otherwise, I don't think he'll see much movement until the day of the Caucus. Unless he pulls an Ohio State and jumps to the finals by default.

8. I have to agree with your statement-
But I think he should get credit for running a nearly flawless campaign. And I think he has a deeper understanding of Iowa, than the two other front runners.

23. Well,
It's just my opinion, but when I see a guy in a virtual dead heat in the most important state, and he's spent a fraction of what the other two front runners have spent, that's a good start.

When people, Mittins, or Rudy, have hit him, he's hit back with lightning speed, and very effectively.

He's in a place right now, where all he does is talk issues, and people are starting to listen, because they're getting turned off by all the hoop-la of the others.

Timing? Good.

Message? Good.

Candidate? Good.

Not that I'm a great fan of any of them, but he's my least favorite. Hell, I can't even use "favorite" in a sentence with him without cringing.

28. When he wins Iowa ...
... the press won't be able to ignore his campaign anymore. The three "H" smears ( House, Haircut,Hedgefund )didn't stick, and his Progressive message ( not to mention, ELECTABILITY ) will move to the forefront.

Edwards in the home stretch !!
