I'm going to see Kucinich tomorrow...
Edited on Mon Dec-17-07 09:04 PM by bunnies
He'll be at a health food place down the street from my house. Anything DU'ers would like me to ask should I get the chance?

I'm also going to see Edwards on Weds and Obama on Thurs. Those are larger events and I doubt I'll get to speak with either of them. I'm going to try like hell though!

I'm especially excited about DK tomorrow. Im going to try to get a photo. :bounce: I wish I could take you all with me to these events. :grouphug:

on edit: Im going to make a list of all the questions and if I get the chance, tell him they are question from the members of DU. It'd be great if I could get him to answer all of them. I wish I had a DU t-shirt to wear. argh!

7. thanks gately!
No Biden this week unfortunately. I really wanted to get to see him as well. Hopefully he'll get some time around here since he'll be here for the debate on 01/05 anyway. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

9. I think you guys are so lucky -- having all the candidates hanging around
before the caucus/primary! Especially those who don't command the huge crowds -- you get such a rare opportunity to REALLY see them up close and personal!

Tell him we love him!! (Even some who are supporting another candidate! :7)

14. You know...
Ive always viewed voting early as somewhat of a curse. No matter what... someone is always unhappy with how our vote effects other states. But now I finally realize that the cool thing is that we *do* get to see them in person while most people unfortunately dont get the chance. It really doesnt seem fair to me. I imagine its got to feel even less fair for everyone else. :(

16. Can you imagine, meeting the future President of the United States in
somebody's LIVING ROOM during a meet and greet? Or in a really small venue like where you'll be meeting Dennis? WOW!

I saw a pic of Biden during his last run for the President. He was on the back of a train, with a Biden Express (or something like that) banner across it. It made me yearn for the Whistle stop tours the presidents used to make across the country (WAY before my time, by the way) -- it just represents how it SHOULD be, and the way the candidates campaign in your state and Iowa also are reminiscent of those days.

4. He's very approachable, and you will have fun!
I was lucky enough to get some pictures of him, though none of me and him, alas...

I exchanged a few words with him...some greetings from a mutual friend!

It was a private party here in LA, last summer...

Wish I could be there too!

Can't think of any questions, though...

Have a ball, and post some pics, OK?

:woohoo:

5. Will do!
Edited on Mon Dec-17-07 08:25 PM by bunnies
I've yet to get to meet any of the candidates up close. I was thinking he probably would be approachable... so nice to have it confirmed. :) Its a VERY tiny place so I guess it will depend on how many people are there... but he's going to be wandering around down town after. Im gonna get my pic dammit. :bounce:

edit: cuz I cant spell bounce. doh!

6. This is what I would ask him:
What should "personal responsibility" mean to modern progressives?

The conservatives have long abused the term, but I think its really important for us in the middle of this mess to have some sort of idea of what our responsibilities as progressives should be, and I would love to hear what Dennis thinks.

I could have asked him myself...He came to a little place in my town too, and I missed him!!! Oh well. Have fun, lucky person!

10. Great question.
I'd have missed him myself except another poster linked to a page that showed who was around this week. Usually I find out someone is here hours after the event... I always miss them. No matter how hard I try to stay on top of the schedules. I just got lucky this time.

Im going to have to hunt down my little tape recorder thingy. I suspect his answer will be good.. and I dont want to screw it up!
