What changed?
I'm already sick of the word change. It's everywhere. Candidates use chnage the way Guiliani uses 9/11. I just watched the Luntz focus group bit and everyone was convinced they wanted change. I don't think they knew they wanted it 2 weeks ago. Obama deserves a lot of credit. He understood what people wanted and was the best at tapping into it first. Now he's the leader and everyone is following.

5. if it becomes a fad...
yes. when republicans are stealing from you (lame, romney) as well as your immediate rivals (ouch, hillary) you have to change up to remain a couple steps ahead. it would be unfortunate for change to become passe.

but i trust obama's campaign on this one. it's still a big deal to change the game this much, to be this much of a leader that others scramble to pick up your leftovers even if it is not with your convictions.

2. After the last 7 years, everybody wants change. Probably even Republicans.
Problem with them (and the DLC as well) is that they don't have a clue what it is that NEEDS to change. Namely the FUCKING DISASTROUS path this country has been on since 1980.
