I still don't see how McCain can repeat his 2000 win-NH-and-do-shitty-everywhere-else strategy and win the nomination.
Edit to add changes from poll released Saturday by Ras.

Sunday, January 06, 2008
The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey in New Hampshire shows Barack Obama earning 39% of the vote while Hillary Clinton attracts 27%. The survey was conducted on Friday night and Saturday afternoon. All interviews were conducted after the Iowa caucuses and before last night’s debate.
Rasmussen Reports will continue to poll in New Hampshire each day until the Primary and report results on a two-day rolling average basis. The two-day results shows that Obama has picked up two percentage points since yesterday’s release while Clinton’s support is unchanged.
The current poll shows John Edwards with 18%, Bill Richardson with 8%, and Dennis Kucinich with 3% support.

2. What is your prediction for the numbers after the debate?
I am a an avid poll watcher, and the debates never give anyone more than a few % bounce or fade.
I am guessing you don't like these numbers because they don't favor your candidate. Well, my candidate is out now, but I try not to be totally biased about how all the other candidates are doing.

4. Tomorrow, Barack's poll numbers will be the same or better
and JE's will be the same or better, but he's not remotely competitive with JE. It's not crap. It's fact and you just think it's crap. Unsurprisingly.

5. Newsflash: Most people go out on Saturday night!

Only on DU debates are big events. And Beltway. Out there, in reality land - people make their decisions differently.
I too thought when Bloomberg blurted in a mayoral debate that athma is more prevalent in poor neighborhoods because of bad hygiene he was toast. Turns out, no one watched.
Also, that "moment" some of you saw as life altering - wasn't. Whatever happens in New Hampshire - it won't be debate caused.
Not that I put much stock in polls anyway - they are easily manipulated.

3. I hope you are right about mccain. I would like to see hukabee as the repuke nominee
Edited on Sun Jan-06-08 01:10 PM by still_one
hukabee actually represents what the republican party is today since the takeover of the extreme Christian right

Also, I think he would be the easist to beat other than Romney, who won't get the nomination because of the anti-Morman sentiment in the country

7. Be careful what you wish. Whichever nutjob GOP wins, will be media-beatified.
Whichever Dem - will be media vilified. We really don't have a designated loser - the dice are loaded against us.

12. Huckabee will stay in the race for a long time
Before Iowa, he was 2nd behind Mitt in MI, 2nd behind 9iu11iani in FL and 1st in in FL. Someone is going to emerge as the anti-Huckabee. Mitt seems to be in the best place even if McCain wins NH as expected. Mitt has OK numbers everywhere, McCain only has NH.

6. Apparently it's true advertising free or otherwise makes a difference.
It looks like an Obama buzz. Trouble is these buzz things can collapse as soon as the next buzz starts.
