I have not seen this in any media until just now. If this is true then all I can say is WOW!

http://www.gulfnews.com/opinion/columns/world/10180028.html

The 38-30-29 per cent margin represents the percentages of delegates selected in Iowa's precinct caucuses; however, some reports note that in the actual vote tallies, Obama received almost 50 per cent of the total votes cast.

In fact, it's important to note that the overall number of votes cast for Obama was greater than the total number of Republicans who turned out to vote in their party's caucuses. And Iowa is a "red" (i.e., Republican-leaning) state.

1. no.
Those vote totals determined the number of delegates each candidate gets, just like the electoral college.

2. Yes, he won the popular vote in Iowa by deafening margins.....
but the MSM doesn't want to talk about that right now.

It would mean a 20% rise in New Hampshire.

That would mean the end of a horserace.

Can't have that!

3. Yes, Keith gave a number close to that on MSNBC
They don't count the actual number of votes, but it's probably close to that.

4. I heard that have a complicated apportionment formula.
Numbers come in by phone, get tabulated (by a vendor, natch), and then delegates are apportioned according to rural-urban weighting and so on.
