Are we discussing issues yet?
or are we still dancing to the tune of corporate America and the GOP?

We haven't, as a group, discussed issues in weeks.
Don't raise your standards too high.

3. I think the music is still going....
but I think it is slowing...time for everyone to bow and curtsey to their partners, and take a seat at the issues table...

4. Corporate "democracy"
When the concession speeches were made in Iowa Edwards went first. He raved beautifully against the erosion of democracy by corporate power (remember, a corporation is an artificial individual thus removing much real person liability). NPR let him go in for 8 minutes before they cut him off derisively as "going on and on against the corporations." Then came Hillary. She was given a full time for her entire speech, as was Obama. Public Broadcasting pays way beyond its listernship/viewership. So it needs more than tax dollars. It needs badly all those tax-exempt corporate dollars. Well, how much more censorship can one expect from the corporate TV media? Bottom line, Edwards who said it all as it is, per current recessionary figures, gets silenced and the others get to hit at eachother's race, genitals and drug habits ad nauseum. A media-- as the media has so often told us-- is a mark of the amount of true democratic freedom in a country. Since Bush we have been on a steep decline and it doesn't seem like it will level off when the Democrats win the White House/Congress in 2008. America is middle aged and taking Viagra so it doesn't have to face that it can't get it up anymore politically, educationally and economically, thus needing to import lost of high and low tech illegal immigrants. Empires don't fall, they just age away, fast. So blog on and make sure no one gets to compete with your blog because it isn't their opinions that count but the advertisers they draw away from you. Business is business...but it ain't democracy!

8. Business is killing itself
Like greedy kids, the worst thing you can do is let capitalism go unfettered. It will destroy itself every time and take societies and governments with it. It needs some level of rules and guidelines for fair play. It has to be part of the bigger community and bear some responsibility for advancing the common good.

6. Issues?
What be this crazy talk of issues?

Do you mean the candidates' positions on Iraq, Afghanistan, the economy, the national debt, balancing the budget, veterans' care, medical coverage, transparency of government, accountability while in office, outsourcing of jobs, the disappearance of US manufacturing, the environment, diplomacy, national security, unemployment, the devaluation of the US dollar, New Orleans reconstruction, the broken military, the degradation of our infrastructure, the decline in education, disrespect and mistrust of the US throughout the world, and the country being on the wrong track for seven-plus years and more?

Nah, we haven't gotten there yet. More important stuff to discuss ...

12. I've been discussing them for a while
but very few people seem to be interested. They'd rather make fun of Kucinich or tell lies about Clinton or Obama or tell Edwards supporters they are fools to support someone who is behind in the polls.
