That's not democracy. That's just pathetic.

General Electric (GE) is a friggin' WEAPONS MANUFACTURER (a/k/a war profiteer) and THEY think they get to decide who takes part in the Dem debate?

Their corporate charter and broadcast license need to be revoked.

2. The Democratic Party doesn't have to play ball with the fascist media. They can hold their own
debates and show em on youtube or somewhere other than the fascist media.

4. Its their event.
That appears on cable channel.

You are more than welcome to host your own debate and invite whoever you choose.

5. Yeah, but it's just WRONG
They're a weapons manufacturer, and they're trying to kick Kucinich out.

At some point, things are just WRONG. They may have a "right" to do it.

But then again, we have the right to boycott GE and NBC.

There is also the definition of a "public accomodation". Restaurants, bars, dentists can't exclude certain people (based on race, HIV status, etc) just because they feel like it.

There is a presumption that a debate between Presidential candidates is public in nature and in the public interest.

It's not right for a weapons manufacturer to kick out candidates they don't like. As long as we let this happen, we're NOT going to have a democracy here.

7. exactly
If I invited people to my house for a dinner party, I'd have my choice of who I wanted to invite. And if I chose to broadcast my dinner party nationwide, same rules apply.

Sure, Kucinich gets screwed by not getting invited. But he has no right to be at a gathering at a private place of business.

At some point, when a candidate is still getting 1%, the media has the right to ignore that person.

6. Why not? They own most of the candidates, too
The Democrats are actually getting more defense industry $$$ this time around than the Repubs.
