I think right now, we're seeing the reason Al Gore isn't running in '08.
The media, the campaigns, their supporters, the corporations, the voting machines, etc.

I wonder if ol' Al ever pops open a cold one, watches some cable news, and thinks "Good call, Al. Good call".

1. I'd be surprised if he didn't.
I know I would in HIS place.

2. Since he would simply have his win taken from him by Diebold or SCOTUS
I can't blame him.

OTOH, he'll have to move out of this country after the election if he wants to keep speaking against the war and global warming. I hope he has his bags packed.

3. Or, just maybe....
He knows that this primary is destined to run all the way to Denver, ending in a gridlocked convention. At which point, only one candidate can truly unite the party.........

5. Politics is a filthy, nasty business.
I'll bet he's glad not to be in it.

8. Can't Blame the Man One Bit....
Aside from all that you mentioned, would he (or anyone) want to fix every damn thing that the asshat has turned to shit. Several wars going on, the drums beating for another, a shitty economy, a health care mess......too much to mention......or fix.

It'll take many a moon to fix all that is wrong in this country.

BTW...Al was my first choice had he run. :)
