Please consider standing with John Edwards, until the end.
I’m really disappointed by the results of the Iowa caucuses and the New Hampshire primary, but I’m still not giving up on John Edwards.

Here’s why:

John Edwards is the only person out of the “top tier” who excites me. He causes me to get excited about politics again. He motives me. He speaks for me. For all those reasons and more, I have been an Edwards supporter since the end of the summer after carefully deciding which candidate to support. I did not choose a candidate in the beginning of the year, when it was popular to do so, but instead I waited for someone to inspire me, to talk to me; and after watching all of the candidates for months, John Edwards kept standing out among the pack. It will break my heart if Edwards is not successful and I cannot muster up enthusiasm about any of the other candidates.

But I have to look ahead, and be pragmatic. I would have liked to see Edwards win Iowa and he did not. I would have liked to see him come in at least in second place in New Hampshire or finish a strong third and he did not, and not having a huge war chest is a considerable handicap when he’s up against two fully funded candidates. He needs a win to spark his campaign, and I was badly hoping that Iowa would provide that but now we have to look elsewhere for that spark. (Nevada?) This is not to say that things are over; I’m just stating what I see now. Things will change and we’ll see how it turns out for Edwards. The data coming out of Nevada looks good, but who the hell knows how that's going to turn out.

Nevertheless I’m still going to proudly vote for John Edwards on Tsunami Tuesday because barring a successful run to secure the Democratic nomination, the next best thing all of us John Edwards supporters can do is to send John Edwards delegates to the Democratic National Convention in Denver.

John Edwards delegates will be able to relay the platform that John Edwards is running on: To stand up against these horrendous corporations and their greed; to fight back and never back down; his dedication to rooting out poverty in this country; and his strong stance on alternative energy, just to name a few.

The more delegates we send to Denver imbued with the message of John Edwards, the better chance we have to directly influence party platform; and the more delegates we have, our chances of influencing the party platform only increases.

If you are a John Edwards supporter and thinking about changing candidates because you are not satisfied with the results from Iowa and New Hampshire, I ask that you keep this information in mind. Delegates shape and mold party platform, and if you believe in the platform that John Edwards is running on, I think all of us supporters can agree that it will be a much needed addition to the national Democratic party platform.

I’m with Edwards until the end. The haters will not deter me, and my passion that I have for my candidate. In fact, they only solidify my support. I fully intend to continue to help the John Edwards campaign in whatever capacity and will continue to donate what meager dollars I can. No one is going to tell me to stop supporting my candidate to support theirs just because two states have voted. That's insulting to all of us who have worked so hard for the Edwards campaign.

One thing is certain in my mind: This race is far from over. John Edwards said it best: “Two races down 48 states to go.”

I'm finally voting for someone I believe in. I'm voting for a candidate rather than voting against another.

No matter what happens, I will feel like a genuine winner on Super Tuesday.

Edwards 2008!!!

Also, the Elizabeth Edwards model for First Lady has enormous appeal over the current First Lady's model.

Also, I like John Edwards' daughter Cate's dignity and the two wee ones' energy.

71. My state is one of the
Feb 5 ones. Many, more like most of the fellow Dems I speak to here are Edwards supporters.

I have long thought he will be the nominee. And anyone who at this point thinks that the nomination is simply between Clinton and Obama is actually being extremely insulting to everyone out there who doesn't (at this point) enthusiastically support either of those two.

And isn't it all supposed to be about the delegate counts?

81. I will vote Edwards or I will not vote. We have to stop the corporations...
the ones that profit from war and slavery and the HMO's that profit from death and of course the ones who manipulate our government thereby usurping we the people. Edwards is our only chance to do this. Clinton will give us more of the same. Obama might help some but thats not good enough. If we don't stop this kind of corporate greed then we will be living in third world conditions very soon.

Get ready to dig up the parking lots and roads so we can plant food crops.

88. Kucinich supporters who turned to Edwards supporters...
Isn't it funny how the Edwards supporters just a few months ago were trying to convince you to drop your vote and give to the democratic candidate who has a "chance" at winning.

Well here we are today, and Edwards is polling 10% nationally and he too, like Kucinich, does not have a "chance" in winning.

What goes around, comes around.

89. First came my intuition about JE being genuine, then the more I heard him speak,
The more I liked what I heard and the more positive I became that he was right for the job as President.

I want someone who cares about the middle class, our jobs, and healthcare.
I also adore Elizabeth, and his children are a delight.

The last time I had strong intuition about a candidate, it was about * and the horrible forboding I had about him before 2000.

110. the end
"The End" is a song by The Doors. It evolved through months of performances at Los Angeles' Whisky a Go Go into a nearly 12-minute opus on their self-titled album. Originally a song Jim Morrison wrote about breaking up with a long time girlfriend. The band would perform the song to close their last set. It was first released in January 1967.

"The End" was ranked 328 on Rolling Stone's list of The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time (2004).

The Doors:The End
From LyricWiki

This song appears on the album "The Doors (1967)" by The Doors

This is the end
Beautiful friend
This is the end
My only friend, the end
Of our elaborate plans, the end
Of everything that stands, the end
No safety or surprise, the end
I'll never look into your eyes...again
Can you picture what will be
So limitless and free
Desperately in need...of some...stranger's hand
In a...desperate land ?

126. I've voted absentee for Edwards in California
so that I would not be effected by what happens between now and then. While I strongly favor Edwards and did 4 years ago I think a Clinton nomination would be a disaster and an Obama would not. Even if the numbers don't change radically, and I hope that they will I came to the conlcusion that for many different reasons Edwards in the race gives a chance with Edwards but if not it still helps Obama and makes him a better candidate.
