1. America as "We the people " knew it ended when this man was assinated.
My heart breaks when I think what might have been. We knew hope, we knew compassion, we knew faith in our government. It was ripped from us with assainations of Martin, JFK, and RFK. We lost the direction of our country when we lost them, IMHO.

2. He would've won the presidency in 1968
He was the only one who could've united the party at the convention. He was also the only one who could've gotten the south (blacks and whites) to vote Democratic that year, too. He would've also gotten the support of the Daley/Meany people, too, which McCarthy NEVER would have got.

His assassination was one of the greatest tragedies of the 20th century. Probably more so than JFK's, IMHO.
