5. That's the same thing I'm thinking.
Obama just leans to the right too often for some people's tastes in our party.

15. Do you mean America would prefer
someone like Carol Moseley Braun (who couldn't get 0.5% of the Democratic vote in 2004) or Al Sharpton (who couldn't get more than 3% for the Democratic vote in 2004)? Just which Black Democrat do you think America is ready for?

9. i admit it would be hard to pinpoint.
but should Obama be the nominee, and LOSE, *of course* it will be said that America is still racist and "not ready yet," blah blah blah.

Exit polls would possibly reveal if this is the case; possibly you're right, people may just like McCain or Romney better.

But i am assuming the hypothesis for the sake of argument in this case:

*IF Obama loses to a repuke, and *IF* it can be shown that America is just "not ready" for a Black President,
*THEN* (i say), we deserve the repuke.

Issues are the point.

14. I absolutely agree, issues should be the point.
And if race/gender *does* turn out to be "the point", then this racist, sexist, bankrupt, backwards country deserves what's coming.

8. I think most DUers are focused on
how progressive they think each candidate is.

We just don't agree on which candidate that is.
