The rightwing conspiracy is already at work
MSM: Quite a little game they've got going. They've got both of the "least electable" Democratic nominees at the top of the list, pouring tons of publicity their way, hoping that the people will eventually buy the hype and exclude the other potential nominees in the final scenario.

And once we nominate one of them, everything will go exactly the way the repubs want it to go: the vast majority of the "common folk" out there will vote for a repuke again, because deep-seated prejudices will rear their ugly heads and no woman or "black man" will find the vote going their way.

It's nothing that we've done--yet. We've chosen our own candidate, and believe that all three of the potential main candidates are electable. We don't see a race or gender barrier in our own eyes--we just aren't made that way. But we also must be pragmatic and look at the whole forest, and realize that we must bring a candidate to the fore who will bring most of the country together, and somehow must bring down the wall that separates the two major parties in the country.

I will, as I've said many times, vote for whoever it is who gets our party's nominee, and most people will also. And yet I also believe strongly that we must not take with us the arrogance that nearly destroyed us in 2004. We were so sure, so damned sure, that John Kerry would be elected, and we closed ourselves off to any other possibility. And yes, we did win, but what good is it that many people in some states (Ohio, mostly, that time around) cheated and committed felonies in order to fix the vote to bring George back into the white house? At the time, it would have been nice to win with an overwhelming majority, but we were weaker then. We need to go with a candidate who will not only fight to make sure it's an honest election, but someone who has the fire in their belly and the tenacity to go through with the battle.

In my view, we must go with a candidate who isn't afraid of the corporations who are running the MSM, the big businesses who contribute to election funding, or the bigotry and intolerance which rears its ugly head in response to differences in a nation of people.
