Barack isn't black and Hillary isn't female
Both of these things have nothing to do with why someone votes for them.

Ya see!

1. Barack IS black. Hillary IS a woman, and it does matter
to a certain extent.

2. Barack is a person who is also black- Hillary is a person who is
also female. These aspects of each of them cannot be denied or discounted-

BUT they should not be elevated to a position where they eclipse everything else that makes the "whole" .

imo

peace~

3. I have my suspicions about Hillary

<snip> the UFO faction is backing Hillary Clinton's presidential run, according to revealing new evidence and the Clinton election machine would prefer not to talk about it!

4. Who cares?
Are either one of them advocating for and could they institute any one of the following:

Free health care for all Americans eliminating health INSURANCE.
Pay at the pump auto insurance.
Restructuring income tax to eliminate taxes on middle and low income.
Eliminating the exporting of weapons of war from the US, NOW!
Forcing any corporation exporting products to the US to conforming to our minimum wage and OSHA laws in the producing country.
Ending the "war" in Iraq and bringing our troops home from EVERY other country unless directly involved and under the command of a UN Commander in a UN peace keeping mission.
Re-regulation of industry and corporations, starting with the airlines.
Be an advocate of labor unions worldwide and promote laws that protect them.
Start a "Manhattan Style" project to eliminate the standard internal combustion engine in vehicles and replace it with an affordable non-polluting substitute within 5 years.
Eliminate the failed "don't ask, don't tell" policy in the US Armed Forces and replace it with a "who the hell cares" live and let live policy.
De-criminalize the use of "drugs" and stop the war on American citizens.
Allow equal rights to gay and lesbian couples allowing them the same State License to Marry and the resulting benefits enjoyed by their straight brethren.

Are either one of them liberal/progressive? That of course is a rhetorical question.

5. If only that were true
If you think there aren't LOTS of people in this country that would never vote for a person of color, you should get out of the house more often. It would be nice if that weren't true, but I am quite concerned that should Senator Obama become the nominee the democratic party will wake up the morning after the election and be sorely disappointed at just how racist this country remains. Of course I know many of you will respond by saying, well those racists are idiots, we won't let racists pick our nominee. And that's fine, but losing the election to racists is still losing. And believe me, I would like nothing more than to be wrong.

8. It has a LOT to do with why SOME people will
vote for them, and why some people won't. I would like to think that racism and sexism are things of the past, but I'd be naive to do so.

9. My hispanic in-laws from South America won't vote for Obama because he's black, and won't
vote for Hillary because she's a woman, they'll vote for her because she's married to Bill and know nothing more about politics than a nostalgia for the Bill Clinton years when things were better for them.

I suspect they're somewhat typical of South American hispanics, at least.
