Obama versus Hillary on economic issues
Many of us Edwardians were drawn to Edwards because of economic issues. Edwards, after all, is someone who has been an economic populist his entire career (can we please retire the Big Lie now that it no longer offers an utility to Obama's campaign?). He ran on "Two Americas" in 2004 and ran on the same basic theme again, this time talking about "Building One America." Edwards' campaign had a laser-like focus on economic issues affecting working folks and the poor. This was in contrast to what the other two candidates mainly campaigned on. I won't get into their themes here. I am explaining why many of us were drawn to Edwards. I can't see a dime's worth of difference between Obama and Hillary on such issues, especially trade. Am I wrong? If so convince me and other Edwardians why your candidate is closer to Edwards' economic message. I think this is the top reason Edwardians aren't flocking to any of the remaining candidates. We don't see a difference on the issues that matter the most to us.

1. Some feel Hillary is the one more likely to get "positions" made into law

POST ENDORSES BARACK OBAMA

January 30, 2008 -- Democrats in 22 states across America go to the polls next Tuesday to pick between two presidential prospects: Sens. Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.

We urge them to choose Obama - an untried candidate, to be sure, but preferable to the junior senator from New York.<snip>

For all his charisma and his eloquence, the rookie senator sorely lacks seasoning: Regarding national security, his worldview is beyond naive; America must defend itself against those sworn to destroy the nation.

His all-things-to-all-people approach to complicated domestic issues also arouses scant confidence. "Change!" for the sake of change does not a credible campaign platform make. But he remains a highly intelligent man, with a strong record as a conciliator.<snip>

Finally, Sen. Clinton stands philosophically far to the left of her husband, and is much more disciplined in pursuit of her agenda.<snip>

3. I agree that Hillary is more likely to be effective legislatively
It is one area where I give her the advantage over Obama.

2. I don't see any difference between them in re Economic Justice.
Other issues:
Obama is supported by Nuclear Power money which will dilute our move toward Alternative Energy.
Hillary's health care plan is to cover everyone. Obama's isn't. The difference may kill the health initiative.
