McCain pretty much has the nomination wrapped up...
Edited on Thu Jan-31-08 01:12 AM by fujiyama
McCain will very likely win the winner takes all delegates states on Super Tuesday, giving him the required number of delegates to have the nomination...

Just wondering what people's thoughts are...So he can basically start campaigning against us right away...How's the money situation for him? Do you think Super Tuesday will give either Hillary or Obama the required number of delegates to get the nomination?

Interesting thread on mydd.

3. Never underestimate an overambitious used-car salesman with millions of dollars to spend
I'm talking about the Mittster, of course :)

4. Many of the big races are tight and we don't do winner-take-all
No way this is even close to over after Tuesday the way things look right now.

5. McCain looks exhausted and ill. Is he up to this?

7. I really wonder about his running a national campaign in the fall.

He will be nearly 72 years old. It is an exhausting schedule for a much younger person.
I ponder why he wants to do this now. A lot of people are asking if he is another Dole.

I really am becoming confident that he is beatable with either of our candidates.

i do think this is our year.

6. Well, he's got momentum
but in last night's debate he looked mean-spirited, cranky, and close to exhausted. I don't see him as inspiring a base that fundamentally disagrees with him on several issues. "More war, fewer jobs" is only going to inspire so much love. :)

I see him as having gotten lucky in Florida with the timing of the governor's endorsement. Things may well break his way next week ..... but he's going to have to personally raise a ton of cash to make it happen. That's going to add to his fatigue and considering how thin he'll have to spread himself over the many states voting the republican base may not get swayed by his momentum.
