My first vote was supposed to have been for John Edwards.
I just turned 18 last September, and I was really looking forward to going into the booth and pulling the lever for him. I'm going to vote for Obama now, on February 5th, but I think that I'm really just disappointed that after I donated time and money to John, I didn't even get a chance to get my voice heard before he dropped out.

1. Why not vote for him in the Primary? he has just suspended his campaign so he can still get delegate
That will give him more power . Please still cast your vote for John.

2. Are you in a Super Tuesday state?
You can still vote for John Edwards. In most states, if enough vote for him in a precinct or district, he can still have his new delegates! And then John gets to tell them who to vote for at the convention (I believe for at least the first ballot). They are pledged to him.

Much as I'd like to have you vote for Obama, your first vote for President should be for who YOU want. Edwards will still be on the ballot. Find out from the local Edwards campaign (before they close up shop and start turning off the phones) office if they have an estimate of how the district was going for John. Weigh it carefully. Then vote your conscience.

I'm sure if John picks up some more delegates, it will be a real testament to his candidacy! Not to mention possibly still allowing him some sort of "kingmaker" role, either now or at the convention.

4. Thanks, I was under the impression he had dropped out outright.
If he can still get delegates, however, I may still vote for him. Obama does really inspire me, however. Just not as much as John Edwards did. I think I could still feel good about a vote for Obama, but I probably won't make up my mind until the last minute.

5. I'm in the same position...
...donated money to John, planned on voting for him. But, I appreciate him doing it now rather than later so I can re-evaluate the two remaining candidates. After much though (Actually, it took me about 3 seconds), I'll be voting for Obama.

6. Hey, my first presidential vote was for Al Gore in 1988...
then Dukakis in the general election...
then Gore in the primary in 1992...
then Clinton in the general in 1992 and 1996...
then Gore in the primary in 2000...
then Gore in the general in 2000...
then Edwards in the primary in 2004...
then Kerry in the general in 2004...
then I was going to vote for Edwards on Tuesday.

I suppose what I'm saying is that I understand all too thoroughly. :banghead:
