Can we please stop trying to talk each other
into HATING our candidate's opponent?

We're down to 2 good people now, either one of whom will be infinitely better than whoever faces them on the other side.

Yes, there are lots of good reasons for supporting one or the other, and lots of things that could be criticized.

But why try to stir up HATE when there's a 50% chance that the candidate who makes you foam at the mouth is going to be the choice of the Democratic electorate?

1. Agreed. People need to alert on trolls
However I'm noticing a disturbing pattern. Certain OBVIOUS trolls are still posting away on this board. Others get tombstoned rather quickly. Hmmm. Two guesses what pattern I am seeing.

All the more reason to alert though, anyway. The anti-whoever trolling just hurts the other candidate anyway, I think. Or will drive all the intelligent discourse away from DU. One or the other.

2. I think you're right about the backlash.
The more I defended HRC against unwarranted smears, the more I found myself warming to her.

3. I alert on who I think are disruptors regardless of candidate
Many DUers see this as a responsibility to DU.

7. I do too, but I have been frustrated sometimes
because it seems that there has been an unbalanced toleration of certain trolls. Not sure why that is, but it's frustrating to alert on things that would be deleted if they are anti one candidate, but you know will be left alone because they are anti the other candidate.

However in the spirit of alerting on disruptors regardless of candidate, did you happen to notice the third (or higher) reincarnation of one this morning? Amazing, sometimes, how they keep rising up from under the stone. :)

12. Ah, it is good to see the Tombstone delivery guy/gal found the keys to the car
and did deliver the granite to that one.

9. Wes, it is quite useless in '08. We used to get suspended for 72 hours in 2004
I never F-Bomb (very childish)
I always write shiite instead of the obvious (even more childish and immature)
If you attack a fellow veteran or J.F. Kerry I will unleash a withering and unending verbal assault on you.(If you did NOT go to WAR...then STFU about how UNimportant the IWR vote was ...4,295 dead and 19,000 "only" wounded)

I try to educate, but, my sarcasm gets the best of me when I'm faced with uneducated cyber folks who post in pronouncements.

I have over 250 people on Ignore. Before December, it was 26.
