McCain essentially wrapping up the repuke nomination on Tuesday and dems fighting it out primary after primary into April. That would give them a two month head start to do nothing by lob bombs at out two battling candidates and unify behind McCain. If it happens, expect to McCain to name a popular social/fiscal conservative as his veep. No, it won't be Huckabee. It'll be someone liked by both the repuke establishment and social conservatives- someone like Haley Barbor.

Right now, McCain is close to wrapping it up because most Republicans don't give a shit who wins. The Democrats are so close because Democrats are passionate and involved and are turning out in large numbers. If we can keep that passion going into the election, we'll be okay.

I'm hoping that Willard will continue to make it a fight. Sad to hear that he is not willing to keep investing huge sums of his own money in this fight. We want McCain tired, wounded, and cranky as summer turns to fall.

The republican machine can never be taken for granted. It would always be an error to be overconfident. We can win -- big -- in the fall. That includes the executive and legislative branches. But we have to stay focused.

If you want to piss off Democrats, isn't the choice obvious? This is going to be an election of animosity and division from the Republican perspective.
What better way to perpetuate the divide that has served them so well than to nominate a Bush for the Vice Presidency?

The media will cry out in disbelief, but the conservatives will love it. It'll make McCain look even more like a crazy maverick, thumbing his nose at the nation in such a manner.

It has the added bonus of helping to shore up Florida, without which the Republican ticket cannot win the White House, this year more than ever.
