13. Or latest poll which is contradicted by other polls claims Hillary is 14 points ahead
Sorry - Hillary isn't 14 points (or 1 point) ahead in New Jersey - the latest in a long line of inconsistent polls says she is leading by this margin.

26. Zogby's poll says "likely voters" = It's the better poll.
Not "likely Democratic voters", like the Rassmussen poll. This is key because 30-40% of New Jersey voters are unaffiliated, meaning that they can vote in either the Republican and Democratic primary. In New Jersey you register as an Independent separately and can't vote in these primaries, FYI.

Given this fact, I would give more weight to the Zogby poll.

17. Sorry - have you looked at today's polls on Realclearpolitics
With this race you have too look at trends in the last few days - not averages which includes polls taken a week or two ago. Clinton's holding up in New York and Tennessee but the gap is closing elsewhere rapidly and in others Obama is moving ahead!

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2008/latestpolls/index.html

Here's a selection of the most recent individual polls posted on RCP today:

Clinton only up only 1 per cent in New Jersey in latest poll
Georgia - Obama up 15 or 20 points
California - Obama up 1 per cent
Missouri - Clinton up 1 per cent
Nationally - Clinton only up 1 per cent

I've no idea if these are right - just that they are the most recent. But to say Hillary is holding her own..............

19. Sir, the latest polls (Sunday)
are as following for New Jersey: Monmouth/Gannet +14 for Clinton
Mason/Dixon +7 for Clinton
Reuters/CSPAN/Zogby +1 for Clinton http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2008/latestpolls/index.html

Now, I don't know where you got your information since you have not provided a link. I don't know how the polls for Sunday and now Monday could be more "recent"? Peace be with you...

25. Not to make excuses but....
Gallup has been known to have very large swings day to day. Just yesterday Hillary had what an 8 or 9 point advantage? Mondays Gallup will probably show Clinton back up by 6 or 7. But who knows? It is for sure close in alot of states, but did anyone REALLY think it was gonna be a 'runaway'? First an foremost, the media wants a horserace and is gonna report all the polls that show it tightening up. Longer the race longer the money! Secondly, alot of the media hate the Clinton's and are gearing up on the smear lately. So yeah, its close and it's gonna be a nail biter.

21. New Jersey basically cannot be polled.
Having canvassed there for Obama yesterday, I can speak to the confusion there.

In New Jersey there are Democrats, Republicans, Independents and Unaffiliateds. Unaffiliated voters, which comprise about 40% of all voters, can vote in either the Democratic or Republican primaries.

These voters are not being polled in the "likely democratic voter" polls.

Many of these voters aren't aware that they can vote, so the Obama campaign is going door-to-door informing them that they can. My canvassing partner and I got at least 10 votes for Obama yesterday by pointing this out.

23. I wonder why Mason-Dixon, and the other polling
organizations haven't figured that out? Anyway, those 10 voters just might be difference between a win and a loss in New Jersey,eh. Whatever.

24. Who knows.
Either those 10 or the 10 more I get when I go back on Tuesday. We also swung some true Democratic decided voters as well. These people would bring you into their homes so you could discuss politics with them. It was a wonderful experience.

We had about 20 pairs of people and everyone reported about the same success. And they do this canvassing every day.

So it 20 X 10 X ??....you get the picture.
