Is Obama really a democrat?
Here you have someone that Rupert Murdoch endorses, Joe Scarborough and other conservatives get a twinkle in their eye when they talk about him, and the nuclear industry contributes more to him than any other candidate.

So whats really going on here?

2. Obama
A liberal with the ability to convince conservatives and everyone in the middle he isn't really a liberal and then persuade them to work with him to put his liberal policies into action.

Might do you some good to learn about him.

14. He Took Corporate Money, then turned against his Constituency
Edited on Sun Feb-03-08 02:05 PM by neutron
He created a bill to force Nuclear Plants to alert the public if there was
a leak.
He told the people of Iowa that he passed this legislation.
In fact, it did not pass.
He took several hundred thousand dollars from Nuclear interests for his
Senate campaigns.
Ultimately, he bowed to corporate pressure and re-wrote the bill so that
it protected the NUCLEAR Plants, not the public.
This time, the bill passed.

So in case you are wondering why the Republicans like Obama so much,
this might provide insight.

Please provide us with a list of the qualifications for being a "real" democrat. Then we'll purge the party and see who we've got left.

13. Regarding conservatives like Joe Scarborough,
Edited on Sun Feb-03-08 02:00 PM by Eric J in MN
...I think they perceive Barack Obama as easier to defeat in the general election than Hillary Clinton. Scarborough wants a Republican to win.

It doesn't mean that Scarborough and Obama have similar values.

21. why, yes. yes he is. that's as stupid an OP as one could possibly drool out, dear
It's as moronic as someone writing "Is Clinton really a democrat? Here you have someone who's friends with Rupert Murcoch and who he's thrown his fundraising weight behind. Ann Coulter has endored Hillary and said she'll campaign for her, and corporate America and lobbyists love her and donate more to her than any other candidate".

I doubt you'll be able to see how stupid both your OP and my mock up of it are, but they are really, really stupid.

22. Yes, Seeker30, Obama is a Democrat, and best of all,
He's a real Democrat, not a DLCer, an organization of DINOs founded by Bill Clinton. That's the organization that believes that acting Like Republicans is most effective. http://displib.blogspot.com/2007/04/dlc-doesnt-lead.html

Ask Ted Kennedy what kind of Democrat Obama is. He'll tell ya. :hi:

27. FrenchieCat, Maybe you should read
everything I wrote before you start linking my take on Obama and the DLC. Mind you, any traffic is good traffic, but I wasn't exactly complementary of Obama's decision making there.
