Overflow Crowds Welcome Hillary Across The Southwest
Sen. Hillary Clinton swooped into Tucson and promised an audience of 4,500 that her presidency would provide universal health care, a greener economy and an end to the war in Iraq, while arguing that she had the experience to change the country.
Clinton spoke at University of Arizona's Bear Down Gymnasium Saturday, three days before she faces Illinois Sen. Barack Obama on the ballot in Arizona and in 21 other Super Tuesday states.
"Our next president has to be a problem solver," Clinton said.
"We need to believe again that the government will work for the vast majority of the American people."
The second-term Democratic senator and former first lady visited Tucson in October, but that was a private fund raiser. Saturday was the first time she came to ask Tucsonans for their vote.
Clinton took a soft shot at Obama's pledge to end the divisiveness in Washington and unite the country.
"We need unity, yes, but to what end? What are we going to unify for?" Clinton said. "That's why I've been very specific about what I'll do for the country."

3. Maxine has stooped to cheap propaganda slogans. Disappointing.
I have really liked her in the past. I will suppose this is a temporary lapse of reason.

After all, as you can see by Obama's sweep of Hispanic newspaper endorsements in CA., you can tell where their support will be.

Asi. Afuera Hillary!

19. The great Cesar Chavez would never have endorsed a corpo like Hillary
In fact he fought them all of his life.

By the way I had the honor of being in a group here in Utah who was trained in nonviolence by Cesar himself before he died. I will never forget him. And you should be ashamed for associating his name with your phony, corporatist candidate.

7. "Hope and Change" is propaganda? Clearly you've never studied propaganda.
See, it has to be somewhat rhymish, or poetic, to stick in peoples' heads. That's why "we need HELP, not HOPE" fits the bill os propaganda (and cheap too).

40. Why I am voting for Hillary, my truly personal Clinton story
Why I am voting for Hillary, my truly personal Clinton story
by Psychotronicman
Sun Feb 03, 2008 at 04:18:17 AM PST

Hillary may not have won the first battle over health care but because of her brave efforts many more children did not have to suffer.

* Psychotronicman's diary :: ::
*

When my second son was born he had a condition that caused both of his eyes to turn outwards. This was not a self-correcting condition and needed expensive surgery to fix. This surgery had to be done quickly because there was a risk that his eyes couldn't be fixed past a certain age. I had private health care but the insurance company told us no because his vision would be fine with corrective glasses so there was no real health issue. Essentially they told us that they didn't care that he had a disfiguring condition and that we would just have to live with it.

We were distraught. Money was tight as we were a young family with only one income earner. We thought because we were not on welfare that we would just have to dig up the money ourselves. That would have taken years. Then one day going through the paper my wife saw an article about Hillary Clinton and the new public medical plans she had helped to start for lower-income families in need. The article even had a number to call.

To make a long story short. We ended up not paying a dime out of pocket for the operation which was covered under her new plan based on our income. Shortly thereafter the amended Child-Tax credit paid for the medications he needed after the surgery.

I'll always be thankful to Hillary for bravely pushing health care back into the public consciousness. Everytime I look at my son's perfect beautiful brown eyes I know she'll always have my vote.
