How can Bush attack Kerry as a liberal while simultaneously
criticize him for supporting HIS programs?

Care to take a stab at that?

3. I don't know if I'd call Kerry a hypocrit. He's been on both sides
of several issues, but I think it's related to timing. At this point, I only care about him winning so if taking both sides gets Kerry more votes, I think I'll let him slide.

7. All that matters is making people believe you
And if they present their message so that it is believable then it will work.

Look at everyone that believes he is honest and a man of integrity. All those Christians (not all of them) believe it.

accused Republicans of having an inordinate fondness for consistency.

5. Republicans aren't known for being rational - or honest.
They can stand any fact on it's head, run it through their ass, and pull it back out in any way, shape, or form that better suits their agenda at the moment.

6. Attack?
We shouldn't allow Kerry to be attacked as liberal. Why we have allowed the ConSWERVatives to make liberal an epithet is beyond me. We need to fight back so liberal becomes a compliment, I even have a term to counter the whole "compassionate conservative" nonsense -
"Logical Liberal"

Anyway, I've thought we should launch a letter writing campaign to our local paper, "Why I'm Proud to be a Liberal"

I'm working on mine.

8. How can Bush attack Kerry as more liberal than Ted Kennedy
while simultaneously claiming that Kerry takes both sides of an issue?

Anyone else?

9. Counter-attack with new words such as...
turn attack into 'facts, this is proof, etc'. The media nazis are the ones placing the negative labels on whatever Kerry or any democrat says. Kerry is a lawyer and knows how to use the facts well. The word liberal is old and over due for a killing. Kerry can also kill the word liberal. The democrats have been fiscally responsible and Prez Clinton was proof of that. Little man bush lost our jobs, took us into a stupid war, bankrupt almost every state in the nation, bankrupt social security, bankrupt our educational system, bankrupt our health system, and never went after the real killers of the 911 attack. Bush is a miserable failure and a stupid lier. If bush is a christian than I must be Mother Teresa.

11. It's the "damned if you do, damned if you don't" strategy.
Edited on Sun Mar-07-04 06:41 PM by Armstead
Pretty standard procedure.

When Bush waffles, he's called a "brilliant strategist." When he panders to his base he's a "principled conservative."

The GOP would do that even if Zell Miller were nominated.
