All these McCain matchups against Hillary and Obama are useless
Edited on Sat Feb-09-08 05:47 AM by hill08
All these McCain matchups against Hillary and Obama are useless right now since are all skewed/influenced by the media hype around Obama. If Obama wins the nomination the bottom will fall out and he will be just another politician with little experience versus the war hero, maverick McCain. With Hillary, we already know what to expect when the media hate her as they have been hating her all along. She will not fall below the numbers we see in the polls now. She can only go up.

1. They aren't useless they're instructive and some of us don't want to be taken over a ledge
in November.

2. how can they be instructive
if they are not conducted in the realistic political environment? Obama is a media Prince at the moment and all the polls matching him against McCain are outliers. We don't know how he will perform when the media honey moon with him is over in August.

3. All polls this far out are pretty meaningless
and your post is even more meaningless than the polls- and that's saying something. You don't have a crystal ball. You're not some oracle. And you certainly can't tell what will happen if Obama gets the nomination. It's absurd to claim you know anything of the kind.

Both can win against McCain and there's evidence of why for anyone not too lazy to seek it out. I suggest you educate yourself as to why the trends point to a dem victory in November.

4. exactly
no one can claim to know what will happen. Which is why it is irresponsible to make the nomination decision based on these polls. Did everyone forget the predicted Obama's win of California or New Hampshire? Polls like these cannot be a sound foundation for this important decision.

5. Actually SUSA hit CA right on the nose
and most polls predicted that Obama would get the percentage he got in NH. Some polls are more accurate than others. Comparing polls about the primaries a couple of days before the event with polls about an election in November, isn't particularly useful. Pay attention to the polls with a good track record for the primaries. Pay little attention to the polls about head to heads 10 months out- but don't discard them completely. One can discern trends in those polls as time passes. One trend to watch is whether Clinton can increase her share of male support.

11. that's bull - no Dem should be trailing McCain at this point
Given the clusterfuck that has been the last 8 years of GOP leadership McCain's ability to consistently beat Clinton in the polls is alarming.

6. What Obama media hype?
Everytime I turn on the teevee, I see Hillary giving a speech, Bill, or one of her campaign spokespeople being interviewed. Occasionally, I'll see a story about Obama, even more rarely about Michelle, and once in a while Axelrod or someone will be on for an interview. I see Hillary on way more often.

7. well,
media are the ones who created Obama and media will be the ones who will destroy him. There are enough black republicans who will calmly and methodically point out all the character and voting record flaws in Obama and you know you won't be able to call them racists. McCain will just have to say "I don't hold the young age of my opponent against him" to bring him down.

8. you're wrong. or rather you're only partially right
Obama created Obama. And it's largely too late for the MSM to bring him down- if they're even terribly interested in doing so. What black republicans do you actually think have a lot of weight with the general public? Cal Thomas? Michael Steele? What's his name who's running for prez and who Obama walloped in Illinois? Obama doesn't need to call anyone a racist to fight back. And if you think McCain who is an out and out awful candidate- can simply recycle old memes to win- you're overestimating him.

You are worse than any poll. You decry polls for being inaccurate and then pretend to have the ability to gaze into the future. That's nonsense. Both Obama and Hillary stand an excellent chance of beating McCain. You have only one interest here and you're as transparent as a three year old lying her little butt off with her hand in the cookie jar.

You lack credibility.
