hence, we have the systematic destruction of public education. They know that an ignorant population is much easier to control, they dream of empire, not of society. Every civilization has been judged, not on how it treated its richest and most powerful, but rather on how it treated its poor and disabled. The rich and the powerful get the lines in the history books, but it is the common worker that has left the monuments behind. No king, pharaoh, emperor or caesar ever built a monument, they ordered it, but people of the lower ranks built it.
The same is with the Democratic Republic we have here in the United States. The outline was given to us by the Founders, but it was and is, the common people that build and repair this monument to freedom and dignity. bush and his minions want to take over the country. They will attempt to do this at any cost. We, the People, are the true guardians of Liberty. It is our responsibility to leave a better country to our sons and daughters. We can only accomplish this, through education and progress. The neo-cons cannot bother themselves with small things like children going hungry, children w/o basic health care, adults looking for a job w/a 6th grade reading level. They like to think in Calvinist terms, "The poor are poor because God wants them that way". They allude to values, but fail to follow up on those values. They acquire great wealth and prestige, but fail to use the power they gain for the common good. They are a sad and ugly group.
We are in a terrible predicament right now, and it is time to place all of the petty squabbles aside and defeat bush in November. There is NO other option. The bush cabal relies on fear to push its agenda, fear is born of ignorance. Once we take ignorance out of the picture, we can move ahead to greater goals. No one should have to suffer through pain, simply because they are poor. A life is a life, regardless of the material wealth of that individual. The rich die of cancer, just as the poor die of cancer. The difference is, one dies in pain, the other dies relatively pain free. If one person can be helped, then we help, there are no questions asked. I know of a woman that died in WA state while awaiting a decision from Olympia on whether a kidney transplant would be done. Why was there a question? The kidney was available, the patient was ready, but those that held the purse strings balked, and the woman died. Why did they even discuss this? Just do it, and discuss it later. This woman was 39 years old and left a husband and three children behind. I do not know if the transplant would have taken, but I would have tried.
The bush administration is like those who will meet for discussions, while thousands go hungry, cold and die from a lack of medical attention. Simple antibiotics can not be bought by people who have infections. The $10 spent knocking the disease out initially, becomes a $5000 hospital stay for just 2-3 days. Is there sense in that?
Thanks for taking the time to read my posts. Vote, and get the bum out of OUR house!
