7. This Explosion Doesn't Help Bush...
It just demonstates that Iraq is out of control...

Also, if I'm an average Iraqi I'm pissed...

9. I don't like Bush either but I don't think he would have people
killed to pre-empt a Kerry speech.

11. I Agree.....
Not only that but why would Bush want to inflame the situation....

This adds fuel to the perception Iraq is a lawless place that's out of control....

This will lead the nightly news....

If it dwarfs Kerry's speech it will also dwarf Kerry's speech....

13. How Can You Spin This....
Dozens of dead Iraqis who would be alive if not for the American occupation...

You can't spin this...

You can put a dress on a pig but at the end of the day it's still a pig....

15. You Give Him Too Much Credit?
How can you spin the fact that Baghdad is like the West Bank, pre Revolution Algeria, Viet Nam Circa April 1975 all rolled into one...

Yep, Bush looks like a war time president...

Charles DeGaulle comes into mind when the French had to vacate Algeria....

16. Then let's discuss the timing of this
And how does Kerry respond after Rove spins it, as we know he'll try. We know the freepers will buy the WH spin, hook, line and sinker.

19. I think today's MSNBC online poll is telling
We usually do so well in the CNN, MSNBC online polls. But today, the majority is still voting that a change in president would be bad for the war on terror. This blast plays into that, I believe. On an ideological level - not necessarily on facts. Many in the middle might just think it's not a good time for a change.

Btw, although Kerry was not my first choice, I did donate 100 to his campaign early this morning. Just making it clear where my heart is.

20. The War In Iraq And The War On Terror Are Two Things...
One of the factors that contributed to Eisenhower's victory in 1952 is that we were mired down in Korea...

Ike promised to go to Korea and end the war....

18. Wait...* is a "War President", not "war-time".....
Big difference, IMHO. He said it himself "I am a war president." To me, that means that he wants war, relishes war, and will keep a war going. A "war time" president to me means a president at a time of war. What we have in Iraq is not a war, it is an occupation. A poor one at that.

21. Unfortunately, too many folks interpret that as * being a strong
and proactive leader who puts America's interests first. And they respect him for it even if he can't wrestle well with pretzles. The nuance means nothng to them. Being surounded by folks like that here in Colorado, I hear this all the time.
