ODD that Nader has 7% and Bush leads polls by 7-8 %
Edited on Wed Mar-17-04 06:33 PM by Mobius
and yet claims are made that Nader attracts voters almost equally from both sides. Does anyone know Ross Perot's #? I haven't been in this forum for a while, because I am rather despondant at the Nader factor. I now think that Kerry will lose if Nader stays in. The more blood that will be spilled and the civil liberties we will lose will be on Nader's hands.

5. Polls! I got your polls!
I use this one on a daily basis. It is non-partisan as far as I can see.

This one has a few states that need to be watched.

4. Kerry needs to confront Nader just like he does Bush...
Nader thinks this is going to be a one way fight- him attacking Kerry.

It's time for Kerry to confront this enemy and attack him on issues that are out of step with Democrats, progressives & moderates.

A good place to start is Nader's weak positions on what he calls "gonadal politics"...

If Nader is going to ACT like the enemy, then Kerry needs to expose Nader...

10. Comes down to what? Putting Nader on the defensive for once???
Edited on Wed Mar-17-04 07:10 PM by Dr Fate
Am I to understand that Kerry should let Nader, the GOP and the media attack him, but he is only supposed to counter attack 2 of the 3 attackers???

Look, it was Nader who decided to divide progressives & moderates, not Kerry.

Nader wants to campaign w/ the big boys- so Kerry needs to COUNTER Nader's attacks, just like he would any other enemy attacks.

Nader needs to find out that it wont just be HIM attacking us...

All you said was "n/t", so I have no idea what your argument is-

Are you saying that Kerry should pretend like Nader is not joining the GOP & media in attacking Democrats?

Please clarify...

12. Ah- the Al Gore strategy rears it's ugly head again....
...no thanx.

Plan on the media giving ALL of Kerry's attackers plenty of time...

The media will give Nader ample airtime, and it will be time for DEMS to treat Nader like the big boy he wants to be...

Dont expect DEMS to greet Nader's attacks & smears with smiles and handshakes this go-round...

If the 2004 presidential election were being held today, and the candidates were John Kerry, the Democrat, George W. Bush, the Republican, and Ralph Nader, would you vote for John Kerry, George W. Bush, or Ralph Nader?"

13. Show me one state where Nader is on the ballot..
and I might believe he's a problem, otherwise let's try not to give him the free publicity needed for ballot access!

If Democrats really wanted to stop him, support reforms for IRV! But it isn't Kerry who you want to win, it's Bush you're trying to boost by opposing IRV and continuing to deny people the right to elect our President.

14. Fine, keep your head in the sand
And come what may...Nader has never been in this election to win. Now, when Bush has our country in a near shambles, is not the time. Nader knows it, the Dems know it, the Repubs CERTAINLY know it.

15. We lost our civil liberties with the PATRIOT Act
Edited on Thu Mar-18-04 01:10 AM by IndianaGreen
and the civil liberties we will lose will be on Nader's hands.

We lost our civil liberties with the PATRIOT Act.

Dennis Kucinich voted against PATRIOT in the House, as did Russ Feingold in the Senate.

How about calling for its outright repeal?

16. Well DK is no longer a candidate , is he?
Oh yes, He will pull a shocker at the DNC and be the surprise nominee. Dont forget the blood that will also be on Nader's hands. How can people continue to deny that Nader attracts his voters solely from otherwise Democratic voters? A vote for Nader is a vote for Bush. If Nader wanted to run so badly, why did he just get in the race as the Kerry came out as the nominee? If Nader was so concerned about reforming our country, where has he been the last 4 years? He only comes out from under his rock when the Repubs need his help.

17. Name one state in which Nader is on the ballot
Dennis Kucinich is still running for President.

It Ain’t Over ’Til…

March 4, 2004

The Cleveland Plain Dealer asked Kucinich today what part of ‘it’s over’ he didn’t understand. Kucinich responded: "The part that says that we're still in Iraq, that says there are 43 million Americans without any health insurance, the part that says we lost 3 million manufacturing jobs, that we've got a front-runner who basically has taken NAFTA and the WTO off the table. And the part that says, last I checked, this is still a democracy."

Kucinich told the Plain Dealer his continued presence gives a forum for important ideas in the Democratic Party. "There are critical differences within the Democratic Party which have to be aired, and they really reflect on whether or not the Democrats can win the election in November," he said. Kucinich warned against ending the debate now and taking it outside of the Democratic Party. “It will be assumed that Democrats may not care about these things," he said.

"It might be true that any Democrat could get 49 percent of the vote right now. The question is, how do you get that other 2 or 3 percent that takes you over the top?" Kucinich said. "And that's why my value to this race could end up helping to save the day."

18. Nader on the ballot is meaningless with a write in possibility
The question is, how do you get that other 2 or 3 percent that takes you over the top?" Kucinich said.
Well that's easy, get Nader with his 7 - 8 % not 2 or 3% to drop out.
