1. He's absolutely right
Nobody is saying he even had an affair, much less something illegal. Fuck MSNBC and the NY Times for going with this.

Sorry, that's just how I feel. Don't get this story at all right now.

2. They just made him look like a victim of a smear....
If Obama or Clinton don't mention it.. you know there is nothing to see.

3. Yeah, right...
McCain denies it so we have to assume it didn't happen. That's what Pat is saying...there's much more to this story...this is just the beginning.

Pat's telling everyone to stay away from it...

4. I'm betting the NYT
has more info. I don't like this kind of reporting but knowing how the NYT operates, I'm guessing there is more. They are trying to bait a reaction from McCain.

It's a shitty way to report the news.

20. "trying to bait" is right
we all know about Sen McCain's infamous temper. It will be interesting to see whether he can control himself.

23. YES
THERE IS MORE. THIS IS HOW THE NYT WORKS. THEY WILL SIT BACK AND MAKE HIM MAKE AN ASS OUT OF HIMSELF. THIS IS THE TIP OF THE ICEBERG. NYT WOULDN'T RUN WITH AN APPARENT DUD LIKE THIS WITHOUT THERE BEING MORE. DON'T THEY HAVE A REPUTATION TO UPHOLD? LOL.

7. The story is out now. Calling it a non-story is not going to make this go away.
What is important in all of this is the GOP is not happy having McCain at the top of ticket to begin with.

15. Even if it is a non-story?
Don't get me wrong, I'm sure there's a millions things out there that could nail McCain's ass to the wall, just not this one (as it now stands).

22. Your missing my point. It does not matter if this is true or not. The GOP is not in love with
McCain and they are looking for a reason to quit him. The Times did not get this story from Hillary or Obama supporters they got it from McCain supporters who obviously are out to take him out.

11. I agree.
This whole "scandal" is stinky. I just don't see much meat here and no reason to have run with it.

21. I'm sure as hell more interested in the fact that the woman was a tele-com
lobbyist than how 'close' the two had become.

What is Mr. Clean Ethics doing spending private time with a person who could sway his votes w/regard to the tele-com industry?

I hope the Democratic candidates know better than to jump on the 'affair' side of this issue....it's just not worth the effort.

Beat the man fair.

6. NY Times needs more to go on than this
both parties deny any affair. Unless there is something more to back this up it will be a non-issue within a few days and the NY Times may have to even issue an apology.

9. "Bill Clinton had an affair!"
"How horrible!" See this is what angers me about this story. The media and the republicans tried their damndest to end his Presidency, including Buchanan. But now that McCain has allegedly had an affair, that's ok. Can't have it both ways.

I just about gagged, though, when he said that the MSM shouldn't be reporting on it if there's nothing there.

Bet he never said anything like that when Bill Clinton was President.
