We love U ElsewheresDaughter - We love U BlackVelvet04 - We love U Jesus_of_suburbia
Whatever happens in this race - we love you and respect your ardent support of Senator Clinton!

We may not always disgree (umm... understatement) - but let me apologize for MYSELF first, and any other Obama supporters who have
gotten carried away. Some people really hate things that Obama has done, and others same for Clinton - but regardless
we appreciate the debate, and will come together to defeat McCain regardless of who wins. We know that your
support for Clinton is based on your firm belief that she is the better leader, and your own love of this
country.

We ALL hold deep opinions on this site - but we respect ALL supporters of Senator Clinton!
And we love your pride, and your thoughtful and strong participation in every thread.

I single out ElsewheresDaughter and BlackVelvet04 and Jesus_of_suburbia only because i know they are strong and vocal
supporters of Clinton - but there are many many more...

the same message goes to all Clinton supporters on DU, and everywhere else:

We love you and we see ourselves in your passion filled eyes.

7. Don't drop, don't drop!
So we disagree, so what? We will rally together eventually, and we'll be prepared for the GE.

This shit is so long overdue.

2. I think you did a nice post to them all.
as an aside there was a good reason the old folks used to say "never discuss, politics or religion in polite company".

You end up hurting and fighting with good friends and decent people if you aren't in agreement.

Again, nice post!

that's extremely nice of you.

I don't hate Obama and I don't hate Obama supporters...some of them are very nice. I am, however, extremely concerned for my country. Some of the young people feel us old folks should just step aside...I'm not that old, yet. And while they are talking about their future they are also talking about the hard work of my past and the hard work of the other older voters. We have everything we've built at stake. I don't have the time the young have to build to have to rebuild.

One of the first speeches I heard of Obama's I called my dad and told him that he sounded like a cross between MLK and JFK....but I couldn't find the substance I wanted and I don't have the conviction that he is up to the task of running this country in such a desperate time. I would have been happy to support him in 8 years. This is really not just about having the candidate I'm supporting win, it's about protecting the gains of the past and striving for more. I've fought long and hard for women's rights and Hillary best supports those issues that I otherwise see slowly being eroded away. I'm sorry that it comes across as Obama hating because it's not.

Really I'm not usually this cranky. ;-)

I'm truly touched by and appreciate your thoughtful post.

5. "When we see ourselves in our brothers eyes - we will have healed the moral deficit of this nation"
Is probably one of my favorite of the things Obama has said - it was in his MLK speech.

I would warrant that it is just as true - and perhaps more poetic to say:

"When we see ourselves in our SISTERS eyes, we will have healed the moral deficit of this nation."

I've finally gotten my dad and brother to understand how disheartening it is to be told that you are "less than" just because you are born without a penis.

4. K&R
Whoever our candidate is, in the end we all have to come together to beat McCain. I would love it if Hillary wins but Obama will get my vote if he is the nominee. Hope after all the primaries are over this place calms down a little (actually, a lot). I wasn't around here in 2004 so not sure if all this is normal or not. Thanks SloppyJoe!

16. no attempt to be overly mushy
just that I really see the passion in Senator Clintons supporters as well.

I had lunch today with my 73 year old Mom & we both discussed why we think a woman will win the presidency
quite soon. Maybe Senator Clinton - maybe someone else.

Obama could lose in November. I support him whole-heartedly, but there, I said it. Anything is possible.

In any case I was just really seeing the same passion i feel for Obama in the posts of these 3 (and many others as I said)
in support of Clinton.

That passion is a good thing - no matter how you slice or dice it!

I voted for Edwards but will support OUR candidate in the GE. I believe either one of them can beat McCain, both Clinton and Obama have received more votes than him. We need to make sure that all the new youth voters stay involved and vote in the GE.

30. K&R, great UNIFYING thread!
We need to stand with each other, no matter who our candidate. Both Clinton and Obama are intelligent, qualified, proven leaders, and either one would make a fantastic president. We all share a longing for change, no matter what the process or who brings it. We need to stand up as Democrats to bring down the Repug spin and warmongering, and bring respect and dignity back to this great country.

This proud Dem thanks you for speaking up! Let's bring this passion into the GE, no matter who our nominee is! :kick:

34. Best thread in weeks!
What a wonderful thing to see! I have begun to think we have run out of original thought, and self-sufficient thinkers here on DU! You have renewed my faith. Thank you so much for this thread.

K&R!!

I hope others take your lead. I for one am tired of seeing school yard hair pulling fights. The personal attacks are really disgusting.

We need to pull our pals back from the edge... we need unity to put a Dem in the White House, which is all that really matters. And that will take a concerted effort from all... we all need to support the nominee.

Thanks again for giving me faith!

soon this will all be passed us and we will all celebrate proudly together as a Dem President raises her/his hand and takes the oath of office and is in the White House for decades to come.
