1. Keep in mind with these polls
that they are national polls, and don't take into account that Nader is running as an independent and is unlikely to get on the ballot of every state.

A lot of this will depend on which states he gets on the ballot.

3. That's right, but lots of people learned a lesson in 2000
I know quite a few people who voted for Nader in 2000 because they didn't like either major candidate or either party! They now say that they still like Nader's message, but wouldn't voter for him again because they learned that he was very wrong on ONE THING.....there was no difference in the 2 candidates. All are sorry they put * in the WH.

10. Nader will need a running mate to get on the ballot at all!
Edited on Sat Mar-20-04 01:02 PM by IndianaGreen
One cannot run for Prez by themselves, they need a running mate.

The fact that Nader is running solo without a political party backing him, makes it even harder for him to get on the ballot.

In Indiana, even a bona fide third party needs to get 5% for the office of Secretary of State to be assured of a place in the ballot.

Nader is no threat to anyone.

6. Wonder how many people tell the truth in these polls?
I usually tell them I'm an Ind. I can't say that I'm as serious a Dem as the rest of you because I really do try to listed to all presentations before making my decision. I just haven't heard a Pub "ever" that I preferred over the Dem candidate.

YEOOOWWWWW I felt that one! Don't throw things!!!!

I voted for Gore in 2000, but I must admit, when the SC decided the election, although I feel they were very wrong in making a decision at all, I never thought * would be as bad a Pres. as he's turned out to be.

5. Notice how much smaller Nader's share is in this poll (2 percent)
than in others. I'm not surprised, because Zogby polls likely voters, and Nader's support is soft.

8. So, it would be smart for Dems to alienate the Left, no? After all, since
there's no chance the election will be close, Democrats can easily afford to tell potential allies to kiss off... :eyes:

9. So there are 6 percent undecided. That should grow as the election
Edited on Sat Mar-20-04 12:58 PM by DaisyUCSB
progresses. I think Nader has been gettting some of the undecided Number.

Also, the polls in the swingstates might be more important. After all, Bush could have 75 percent in all the safe redstates and therefor more of the popular vote and still lose the electoral college
