How can Hillary claim that she is prepared to face the Republican attacks
When her response to Obama's mailers is to complain to the media and portray herself as a victim.

Bill never did that, no matter how viciously they attacked him. That is a big reason why he remained popular. Remember what Bill said not too long ago:

"When people are insecure, they'd rather have somebody who is strong and wrong than someone who's weak and right," Clinton said.

I am not stating the merits of each candidate, only the perception. And right now, Hillary appears weak.

4. You have a point there. Doesn't exactly sound like a winning slogan.
My girlfriend says it sounds like 'Mom'. She doesn't think it would work on Iran and Iraq either.

3. What are my choices for taking on the GOP poo-flinging brigade?
The black belt in verbal judo?

Or the wailing drama queen...

Tough decision here...

5. Bill Clinton's still does not know it's possible to be strong and right
And it is not being "strong" to vote for republican policies that you personally find abhorrent just because you are afraid that by opposing them you will be labeled "weak".

Hillary appears weak primarily because she voted for an Iraq war resolution she knew was bullshit. She voted this way because Bill and others told her that her patriotism would be questioned if she opposed the war. She lacked the courage to stand up to that type of criticism.

Bill never portrayed himself as a victim but he likewise made a fairly regular practice of caving to republican and media pressure

11. Yes her responses are not helping her
She is not doing anything to appeal to swing voters.

And she just dropped 3 points in the general with her approach today.

15. Not tested, not ready.

She's folded like an accordian in this, her first true test in an electoral race. Obama has faced adversity before, been beaten and bruised (against Bobby Rudh in 2000) and come back stronger for it. Clinton has never experienced that, and what we've seen from her is a real eye-opener - It's clear that she doesn't take pressure well, and it's also increasingly obvious that she is of dubious temperament and maturity.

I understand in a sense why she's crumbled as she has...knowing that a lifelong dream is slipping away, particularly when you've been told by all and sundry and convinced yourself in the process that it's going to happen, isn't an easy thing to take. For the rest of the world, however, it's probably for the best that we've seen this side of Hillary Clinton now.

16. In a certain sense, both Clintons have been spoiled. They drank the Power Kool-Aid years ago
they live in a bubble and largely have had millions of dollars channeled to them as they control millions flowing to others.

This is hard work.

And somewheres inside Hillary (and Bill) is the belief it shouldn't HAVE to be such hard work.

17. She really cannot handle direct criticism at all
and she cannot hide that she cannot well either.

If the GOP had nominated a competent, charismatic speaker, they could run circles around her, but they nominated someone with notable speaking/presentation problems of his own, and a short temper as well to boot.
