End game and cornered rats..
One of the scarier moments of my childhood happened when I chased an adult opossum around my yard and had finally cornered it. The creature was pretty docile and slow moving as long as it was in relatively open territory, but when it got cornered...yow! Mean!

This may be premature, but as the months fall away and November comes into view, when acceptance of the Clarke revelations opens up to the public all of the other allegations from former (and perhaps current) Bush administration members, as I think will happen, and when the cooked economic stats bubble to the public surface, as I think might happen, when all of the lies are exposed, we're left with a cornered animal.

What does this cornered animal do?

3. Foment Civil War, declare Martial Law and suspend the election.
Use the military to attack and imprison liberals. Nuke the world.

4. Oh yes, I agree.
* and his minions will not go quietly into the night.

I am hopeful in one respect. I think that many Republicans are as revolted by * and his disastrous administration as we are. I suspect that some long-time Republicans may be working behind the scenes to try to ease this administration out of power.

Look at it from a moderate Republican's point of view. If everything that * has done sees the light of day, it might mean the end of the party. At the very least it will be worse than Watergate.

What has * done to help Republican representatives, Republican governors, Republican mayors get reelected? He's been a disaster for everyone at the local and state level.

7. A ray of hope
I agree. If Republicans continue speaking out, and if those Republicans help guard against the thrashing-out we can expect from a cornered animal, then perhaps we can head off any Bushit.

6. I've been worrying about that for a long time

IMO the most likely scenarios are: LIHOP again, declare martial law, and suspend elections; or just steal it via Diebold.

So far only Frank Lautenberg has recently signed on as a co-sponsor to Graham's's bill. He sponsored it in Dec, two other senators signed on in Feburary, and now Lautenberg.

Why so slow?

Is this not a serious issue to Democrats?

9. If they suspend/throw out the Posse comitus act, all dissenters
will be targets...and I mean targets as in live ammunition being shot at you.

They've already talked about it. If it happens, bush will have the authority to order the armed forces to fire upon US citizens. Think, pretests near the WH...or during the GOP convention in NYC. They've already asked for the right to fire on "foreigners" when bush is visiting Ireland. Next stop, USA!

Update your passports.

10. Interesting question Teach
At first I thought they would look the other way like they did on 9-11. But the more I think about it, the more I think they won't. What happened in Spain may have taken that off the table.

Personally the way I'd like to see this go down is for the election to be close enough that they get skiddish about pulling this stuff. I want them feeling good about themselves going into the final week of the campaign.

The fact that they are animals only slightly removed from Nazis or Commies concerns me, as well.
