They were getting it started whe BLAMMO! They got broadsided by Clarke. Now they have even MORE credibility problems.

The problem with running smear campaign is it doesn't work when you've got your own SEVERE credibility problems. Bush was able to pull it off in '00 on Gore because at that point he was a relative unknown. Now he's got severe credibility problems and the smear campaign will be viewed through that lens.
