Today's Clinton Spin: Obama has to win all 4 on Tuesday or he's toast!!!
"There's a problem" if Obama doesn't sweep the March 4th contests, the memo states. "Democrats, the majority of whom have favored Hillary in the primary contests held to date, have their doubts about Senator Obama, and are having second thoughts about him as a prospective standard-bearer."

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/02/29/clinton-camp-throws-sink_n_89236.html

How frickin weird is THAT line of reasoning? So three weeks ago, the Clinton campaign were telling everyone they HAD to win these big to as part of their delegate "get well" plan. Now they've dropped all the way to "Obama has to win all four or else"???

23. So what Rhode Island and PR is going to be the windfall?
I said in a post yesterday that if HRC wins RI and PR that is like hitting a single in a baseball game in the 9th inning while down 16 runs.

Sheesh.

5. Didn't you see this coming?
I sure did. They always play the expectations game. She knows she won't win Ohio and Texas both so they're trying to lower the bar for Clinton. They've been playing this game since Carville was on meet the press 8 months ago telling us why Hillary didn't need to win Iowa.

8. Yeah, but at this rate, she'll be declaring victory for not having to eat worms today!
Seriously, how far down in the dirt can her campaign get beaten? When the results show they're six feet under, even if they've lowered the expectations game to say, "five feet under equals victory!!!", this doesn't really help them win the nomination. It really is "silly season".

6. Isn't this how the NCAA Football Champion is decided?
Once you lose a game, it's up to the super delegates (BCS) to choose the two most well-known traditional powers to play for the title. If South Florida goes 11-1 and Ohio State goes 10-2, South Florida gets punished for not being perfect.

10. Love that analogy!

And don't you know, 2 losses in overtime don't count per LSU, just like the caucuses don't count.

11. It is a perfect analogy, isn't it?
WVU beat Rutgers and Syracuse and Connecticut and Cincinatti. Which is kind of like winning in Utah and Montana.

The only games that apparently counted was South Florida and Pitt - which is, I guess, New Hampshire and - I don't know - New Mexico.

Meanwhile, LSU's wins against SEC teams are like New York and California. They really super-duper count.

And the over-time losses are caucuses. They have screwed up rules and favor weaker opponents.

West Virginia?

I was at your big Sugar Bowl win over my Dawgs. Great ball game. I KNEW you weren't punting. EVERYBODY but our coaching staff knew you weren't punting.

What an awesome offense you guys have. I've never seen anybody run on our defense like White and Slayton.

on edit: perhaps not. You mentioned WVU.

25. I didn't go to WVU but I'm from the state
And I enjoyed the Rodriguez years though I now consider him to be slightly more evil than Stalin while still slightly less evil than Hitler.

That was an amazing game. I'm not sure WVU was going to run a fake until Georgia decided to put three guys on the line of scrimmage. That was arguably the worst punt return formation in recorded human history.

Slaton and White were in the secondary before our defense got off the ball. Once they were in the open, they were GONE. They were spectacular, to say the least.

38. We don't want her scorching our earth!
We want to be able to focus on GOTV. We only have until March 24 to register people (closed primary).

MUCH more important than listening to her tear BHO and the party apart every night on the evening news with our pathetic Governor, Fast Eddie, playing bobble head over her shoulder looking like a washed up Ted Strickland.

14. Can't say the faux optimism isn't to be expected.
Even now, this late in the game, Clinton is still pressing flesh with the big donors, hoping for millions more in cash for her campaign. If she's doing that, but at the same time, saying publicly "We don't know how much further we could go, we might bow out on Mar. 5th if we can't win Texas and Ohio," the donors are going to be saying "WTF? Why are we wasting our money on her?" So for marketing reasons, Hillary's going to act like Baghdad Bob, continually declaring victory, even in the face of glaring reality.

That doesn't mean she isn't going to quit on Mar. 5th - eventually, she's going to have to face the inevitable.

39. Once again, HRC campaign grasping at straws.
Obama came into the entire camapaign WAY behind. Two weeks ago Hillary was up 15-20 points in both Ohio and TX. Once again, look at what has happened. She's now losing TX and it's a tie in Ohio.
She and her team are scared shitless, so these days they're trying to play any possible card they can. Even if, and I say IF (I DON'T thinks it's gonna happen), she was to win these large states by a small margin, anyone with half a brain can see how well Obama did to come so close when she was so far ahead from the beginning. My prediction as of now: Obama takes TX by a little, VT by a lot, loses RI by a little, and OH too close to call.

Barack is just finishing business with the primary stuff he is as focused as a laser and his main thoughts are about McCain. Barack is such political genius it's awesome to watch. I think the thing we do now work to get him in clear front but not lose sight that his fight now is with McCAIN, the rest is distraction really..
