Clinton camp now says Obama must win all four Tuesday primaries -- AP
3/1/2008

Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign is moving the bar on what it would consider to be success or failure in Tuesday's primaries.

A lot of Democratic stalwarts have been suggesting she'll have to fold her campaign if she doesn't win convincingly over Barack Obama in both Texas and Ohio. He's won 11 contests in a row. But her advisers are now saying that if Obama loses any of Tuesday's contests, it would constitute "buyers remorse" among Democrats about Obama as their nominee. That would include not just delegate-rich Texas and Ohio, but Vermont and Rhode Island, which also hold primaries Tuesday.

The remarks from top Clinton adviser Howard Wolfson stand in contrast to those made recently by former president Bill Clinton, who said his wife would have to win Texas and Ohio in order to go on and win the nomination.

Clinton plans more campaigning today in Texas, which polls now rate a toss-up. Surveys in Ohio show the former first lady with a modest lead.

1. How about they win ONE?
Edited on Sat Mar-01-08 06:24 AM by BringBigDogBack
Wouldn't that be a success for them at this point?

I feel like I'm in fucking looney tune land.

Hey Hillary. 11 straight losses. How about we tone it down a little if Barack happens to not win every state on Tuesday?

2. The goal posts keep moving
First, it was obvious that Hillary had to win all remaining primary states with 60% of the vote to even tie Obama in pledged delegates.

Then that quickly morphed into Hillary needing to win Texas AND OHio by 60%+ or she was doomed.

Then that morphed into Hillary needing to WIN Texas and Ohio (by 1+ votes) or she was doomed.

Then that morphed into Hillary needed to win Texas OR Ohio.

A few morphs later, Obama has to win ALL FOUR states Tuesday or HE is in trouble!

These folks spin like a centrifuge!

3. Now someone in the Clinton campaign has gone nuts on the spin - she must
win Ohio - and come extremely close or win Texas (the open primary and about 200,000 (or more) GOP emails telling GOP supporters to vote for Obama give Texas a slight pass).

4. I thought Bill said Hilary must win Ohio and Texas to win???
Why do they keep moving the goalposts backwards? Is this the type of leadership that they think we need?

5. Good. We now know they are not confident about winning TX or OH.
It is a silly move to let the adversary know you feel unsecure.

6. she's not leaving until she's sucked every penny from the veins of her supporters
in order to pay back her million-dollar consultants and pay for her $3000 makeup jobs and $1500 haircuts.

Really, that's what this is all about.

Money.

7. They failed to mention he needs to win all 2004 primaries as well to be viable. He's toast!

8. If Hillary's last name was Smith and she had lost 11 straight,
she'd have already packed it in and gone home.

9. Team Hillary is looking more like a comedy routine every day.
Obama has won 12 in a row (including Democrats Abroad), many of them complete blow-outs, but if he doesn't win the next 4, it's a sign of buyer's remorse.

For Hillary's sake, they need to take a step back for a minute and listen to themselves.

Everyone expects spin from both sides, but this is ridiculous. It's silly season again in Camp Hillary. :silly:

10. The Clinton campaign is delusional with a capital "D".
As are many of her more fanatical supporters here on DU.
