Senatorial Convention - fun, educational experience
So I'm now an at-large delegate to the state convention in June. Yay!

But as an at-large, I'm forced to vote for Kerry. Oh well... at least we got a couple of watered down resolutions in there. It's Dallas, I suppose I shouldn't be surprised.

What *was* surprising was the fact that the precinct chair for the precinct mine was lumped in with for the caucus did not seem to understand that we could change our votes for Pres! :wow:

Sadly, there were no delegates for Kucinich out of our convention. I think this was partly due to the ignorance of the people running the damn thing. They announced that the delegates were final before the caucus, for goodness' sake! :grr: It's really surprising how uninformed you can be and still apparently care about politics.

I hope to meet up with some other Texan delegates in Houston this summer! :hi:

1. If Kucinich didn't get 15% of the delegates

then "ignorance" would have nothing to do with it. If Kucinich didn't get 15%, he gets no delegates. That's the rules in Texas. I can't imagine Kucinich getting 15% of any senatorial convention in Dallas County.

3. It was before the caucus
IOW, we could have changed our votes and sent a delegate during the caucus. Many apparently had no clue.

5. The opportunity to switch your preference is mainly for
a caucus that doesn't break 15% so they can restate a presidential preference and then participate in sending delegates to the state convention.

Technically, someone that signed in Kerry could also sign change, but at my SD I can't imagine that happening. We had
