Who gives a shit what Bill Richardson says?
A couple of the news channels have been interviewing him, talking to "close sources," etc., trying to get a handle on what he's thinking about the race.

Just now, Howard Fineman said that someone close to Richardson said he had a formula for figuring out where the race goes after tonight, whether it should go on, and whether a certain outcome means the party has spoken.

Hey, Bill, the party has spoken...on you. How many delegates do you have? How many states did you win? How long were you able to hang on before you dropped out of the race?

He's free to speak of course -- I'm not challenging that -- but why should we care at all what he's thinking about this race?

10. He's a joke.
The other night he said, "I still might decide to endorse, or I might not."

OH! We're all sitting on the edges of our seats, Bill!

Please.

I don't like racism, period. I don't care what race or ethnic group we're talking about. And I would be very disappointed in "Hispanics" if they voted as a group for a candidate because a Hispanic politician told them to.

When Edwards dropped and I realized that the Dem Nominee would be a woman or a black man, I was filled with pride.

You can't deny the institutionalized racism and the prevalence of sexism. To elect a black or female to President will be a step. At least a symbolic step, I believe more than that.

They did not have to spend a lot of money on ads. All they had to do is take a commercial flight to some major markets that have not seen any candidates during the Iowa-New Hampshire madness, and the visit alone would have generated news. As it was with Edwards, except that when he visited he had already made up his mind.

He didn't allow a recount in 2004. He pressured the NM legislature to pass a bill requiring that anyone requesting a recount post a million dollar bond. He worked for Kissinger and Associates; just to name a few issues.

I also think he has zero interest in any area of the U.S. but his own, as demonstrated by his outrageous assumption that the Great Lakes are there to be tapped for Southwestern states. And I believe his stance on illegal immigration is based on ethnic loyalty and being pro-business, rather than what is good for U.S. workers.

So, I definitely don't care what Richardson has to say, except for the people who might blindly follow whomever he endorses.

61. That was unkind
Richardson was and is a highly respected statesman. His knowledge of foreign affairs (especially Korea) has earned him some respect.

Just because he has very few delegate votes is no reflection on his character - just the system used to select presidential candidates.

I remember a caller on Hartmann complaining that she never got to vote for Biden or Richardson or Kucinich or just because NH or Iowa wasn't voting for them.

Hey. listen. The next time you feel like criticizing a former politician for their opinion - pick on Buchanan or Scarborough. They get WAY too much air time.

78. Oh, I don't know-
how about those people who care about what the most qualified and the person w/ the most experience has to say?
You're talking about our next VP.

80. I give a shit about what Bill Richardson says
I don't give a shit about Chris Matthews, or any of the other pundit scum says. Why should we care at all what they think about this race?

84. Well, former Richardson supporters like me do
OK, so there weren't all that many of us, but we do care about what he thinks.

85. I do. This topic aside, I like Richardson a lot. I think he's a very
bright soul and brings an awful lot to our table for November and beyond.

I'd like to see him play a really influential role in the next (Democratic) administration.

88. People who respect Bill Richardson?
There's apparently a few out there. He was inspiring enough to my friend Jay to get him to vote for him in the Illinois primary a month or so after he'd dropped out of the race.
