Brilliance: the biggest Clinton myth.
Quite honestly, she's not ready for prime time anywhere and she's proven it in her campaign. I see no brilliance in her campaign. It has been rife with dishonesty, bigotry, huge missteps, and financial mismanagement. It is run by the same Republican operatives who manage McCain's campaign as well, something I find reprehensible. The entire premise her campaign began with was that a Clinton isn't a Bush and the problems of the nation would disappear with a "Clinton" do-over. That's not brilliance or even change but preservation of the status quo and many of the bad policies associated with it. The idea that someone with a history of favors owed them from decades of wheeling and dealing will bring a new ideas or reform to a broken system is just naive.

1. I haven't seen any dishonesty or bigotry.
What I have seen is O.'s campaign lie about what she says and cultivate an irrational hatred towards HC. She has been a good D. for decades and yet O. supporters take personal offense that she is challenging O. So, I think your criticisms amount to psychological projection.

When Barack said that the Repubs had been the party of ideas for the past
15 years without qualifying as to whether those ideas were based on sound judgement and when he said Reagan changed the trajectory of our country sans qualification as well, both Hill & Bill misquoted him as saying they were good ideas and that his words about Reagan were praise for the end result. That was throughly disingenuous.

IMHO

peace

2. Mayor Daley flunked the bar, too. He has never been accused of brilliance
and now that so many of his top aides have been indicted, in jail or lawyered up, it is a matter of time until the spotlight reaches him.

Everything that you say is absolutely true. But as Stalin, Cheney, Churchill, Goebbels, Himmler, and others knew, the spin is more important than the truth.

6. Her only major project was a collossal failure that set us back 20 years
Her health care initiative was a disaster that led to the mess we're in today.

7. I'm risking a bump on your post because you're perpetuating the emotional warfare that's plagued
this site. Stick to what your candidate is doing and promoting their platform and we'll all be just fine.

to win or get ahead.

If Rove had REALLY run the better campaign with the better candidate in 2000 and 2004 he and the RNC wouldn't have HAD to gain control of every level of the election process where votes are allowed, cast and counted, cheating and stealing for years to gain office.

16. "She's very intelligent." I keep hearing that a lot.
On DU, on the news when people interview "people on the street."

They always start out, "well, she's very intelligent."

It's almost like they're trying to kid themselves. I haven't seen any evidence to support that argument.

18. Intelligent but not brilliant
Brilliance is a few orders of magnitude brighter than "highly intelligent". And brilliance is what we need right now. She has never demonstrated brilliance in motivating people, leadership, or accomplishing goals other than electing herself to the Senate.

Old school, conservative politics belongs on the trash heap.
