It's getting to the point where I'm no fun anymore

I'm really beginning to hate GD-P.

I know, before you say it, I don't have to be here. And it's not really the forum that I hate it's the hate-filled posts that I see here.

Primaries are not always fun. Sometimes they can be and up until a few weeks ago this one was awesome. But I don't know if it's the media or the candidates or the supporters who are pushing this whole thing way over the edge.

If had one wish it would be for the campaigns to make a statement saying that they understand that this process is hard on everyone. That the two candidates are fighting for the Democratic nomination and not to take each other down. That each candidate respects the other and will support the nominee.

Both campaigns have been pissing me off and I think this nastiness must stop or we're going to be in the tank come November.

I think the candidates understand this but I'm not sure the campaigns or the supporters get it sometimes.

We are not criticizing each other or the candidates. We are not planning to leave the primary fracas. We are just establishing a neutral zone.

You don't have to hate 24/7. Here is where we are actually putting this aside and relaxing -- through what you said, I have faith that we are not in deep trouble.

I try to avoid the flamebait and stay out of the discussions that have just turned into hate-fests. But even threads that start out as a thoughtful discussion on issues seem to get hijacked by people sniping back and forth at each other, calling candidates names and making outrageous claims about actions and motives of the "other side". It's almost like they don't realize that the other side is the Republicans.

I had hoped that this campaign could be decided on issues and not personalities. This seems to not be the case. Any unguarded comment by the candidates or their supporters is blown out of proportion with the media fanning the flames. It has gotten real ugly.

you are right, DU has become overly Puritanical recently
and if viewed as a bellwether I fear it does not bode well
for what is to come.
