I'll tell you why: Because the Ferraro stuff hurt the Hillary campaign, and hurt badly. The reflex, then, is to try to flip that script, but it looks like lashing out in the dark. What you're seeing on these boards is panic mode.

It's telling, though. I can't imagine that anybody with conscience would find Ferraro's behavior acceptable. Since the first reflex is to defend somebody on "your" team, a lot of Hillary Fans did that, and it was cringe-inducing in the extreme. OMC's post, I think, did a good job of making that move unpalatable. So the next reflex is to say "Well, you TOO!" That's today's move, and probably will operate for the next several days. The ferocity with which it's being deployed, however, is a good index for how the Hillary Fans feel about the Ferraro affair.

3. I agree...it's a knee jerk reaction

The bad thing is, if the MSM runs with it...they may do it to save the face of the Clinton campaign. Even though, the examples on either side are starly different. Ferroro was part of Clinton finance team and actively supported and campaigned for her. Jeremiah Wright is none of those things, but his words are being held against Obama through Guilt by Association. What's hypocritical about it all is unsavory people endorse candidates all the time.
