It was clearly a comment about the Iraq war which had no racial overtones at all.

I just don't recall having heard Sen Obama state it like that. I may well be wrong, and I know others framed it as such, but just wondering if the Senator himself actually said it.

Axelrod and Plouffe forced this issue like crazy after New Hampshire. That wasn't a story that happenned on its own...it was pressed by the Obama camp. Looking at that comment through a racial lense was not a reasonable interpretation. It was the beginning of the racial flare up and laid the groundwork for what happened in South Carolina.

I appreciate your not flaming. I know, this board has gotten totally out of control lately.
