I just heard Jesus hung out with whores and thieves.
Did he approve of everything they did or say? No. Did he love them anyway? Absolutely.

Just as Obama said in several statements, Pastor Wright has always preached the word of Jesus. Every time the right wing and HRC bring up this story it gives Obama the chance to go on television for free and explain that he follows the word of Jesus. He also has a track record of it. Jesus would not cheat or spew the negative hatred that Hillary has. Jesus would not authorize war. Jesus would not lie and take credit for something that he had very little to do with such as SCHIP.

I am tired of fighting all of these battles about the little gotcha things that have become pervasive in the political spectrum. Although I respect all the major religions that teach tolerance and love, I am a Christian. Therefore, my defense of Obama from now on boils down to this. He is the most Christian candidate from either party. He cares about the poor, peace and love towards everyone, no matter what their past is. This is congruent with Liberal ideals and always has been.

What we are seeing now is Pharisees Politics. That is, a bunch of hypocrites that are scared by someone that is stealing their thunder and threatening their hold on power. If Obama scares HRC, the rich and big corporations, then he is my candidate. Do I think Obama is the second coming? No, but he is the closest thing I have seen in a long time. If we are willing to throw him under the bus like they did to Jesus, then we deserve what we get. Remember, it was Jesus' heart that was so special; no experience required.

He foretold the coming of Obama and now a woman has asked for his head on a platter.

7. His speech was actually pretty incendiary at the time - it even got him killed.
He condemned the wealthy and religious leaders when they abused and misled the poor and said they would not enter the kingdom of heaven (what does that leave?)

21. You are not by yourself. Some of these people who go on and on about
their lack of religion frankly are an embarrassment. Not they have no religious belief, as Americans they are certainly entitled to that, but they don't have enough sense to realize they are costing the democratic party valuable votes in November by insulting people who might otherwise vote democratic. Some things are better left unsaid.

Why are you not more offended with Hagge's words and posting about how McCain should denounce him, etc. Oh, I forgot, you are getting beat by Obama not McCain.

29. I left the Catholic church when I was 17. It was a little too "cultist" for me.
I'll bet your parents or your spouse was Catholic and that forced your decision. Denominational preference is usually predicated on such things. Me, I am a free thinker and actually made a choice just like I chose Obama. I guess that is why he attracts the more educated crowd and not the blind followers.

36. Thanks for attacking my religion. I appreciate that... and yes, that is sarcasm...
I don't appreciate you criticizing my faith at all. It is rude and uncalled for.

Also, my mother is an athiest, my father was a lax catholic if you must know. I have studied theology all of my life and have left and come back to my faith if you must know.

and you just got an iggy. kthnx.

32. BTW, I wasn't attacking Catholics but simply pointing out the irony of the use
of the word cult then stating your denomination. That is why I don't go past the label of Christianity. I don't feel like denominations are necessary and just further divide us.

I am simply saying Obama is closer than anything I have seen as far as public figures.

of someone that comes close to the Jesus test. I am sure they are out there but not many in public life.

13. "I am tired of fighting all of these battles about the little gotcha things...."
Uncle Jeremiah Wrights's words as featured on practically every TV channel are "little gotcha things"? "God damn America" is a "little gotcha thing"?

Stop taking the Lord's name in vain. You are just hurting your candidate. And Uncle Jeremiah Wright is neither a whore nor a thief. But he is just another kind of racist.

31. I know you didn't but are stating it is a big deal based on guilt by
association. HRC doesn't want to go there. She has a lot more questionable friends. We can start with Mark Rich and go on down the line to Hsu.
