Live: Obama Town Hall In Indiana - First Since Pastor Controversy
Edited on Sat Mar-15-08 12:45 PM by malik flavors
I don't see it on the CNN Live schedule: http://www.cnn.com/live/

Anybody know where else it might be broadcast? I want to see how things go after all the Pastor nonsense.

Edit: Watch it here: http://www.indystar.com/apps/pbcs.dll/frontpage

there is a Ghandi saying that goes something like:
I am the leader and where my people go I must follow.

that's so Barack. Love the guy to bits. Never would I have thought this a couple few months ago but how my opinion has changed to way positive since.

He's a keeper. This one cannot be let go - he is truly needed in this 'urgency of now' time.

33. Economic fairness.
Health care.

Best education to every child in America.

"I don't want to talk about how great teachers are, I want to reward them by giving them higher salaries and greater support."

"I don't want our schools just teaching to a test..."

LOTS of teachers in the house, methinks.

Make college affordable. $4,000 tuition credit in exchange for community service.

Energy policy that makes sense. (Reduce demand, make buildings energy efficient, raise fuel efficiency on cars, invest in wind, biodiesel)

We should be in Afghanistan going after Al Quaeda, not in Iraq.

The crowd is really psyched.

37. Talking about Bobby Kennedy delivering the news that Dr. King had been killed.
We have a choice in taking the rage and bitterness and disappointment... or we can walk together. This campaign started on the basis that we are One America. There is no White America, Black America, Asian America, Latino America... there is the United States of America.

Talking about comments from Pastor Wright. If all he knew of him were his comments that were on television, he would be shocked. We have a lot of pent-up anger and bitterness in this country. But I believe this country wants to move beyond these division (applause).

Crowd shouting "YES WE CAN!"

Fine tune that puppy and take to PA all day long.

it really provides good backdrop and rational for working together for something new instead of continuing the pent up anger that rages just below the surface.

49. Making sure women are paid an equal wage.
Making sure our girls get an education that is just as good as everyone else receives.

Question about going to Mexico and South America to plant crops to grow ethanol.

Obama: We spend $1 billion a day sending money to foreign nations because of our dependence on foreign oil. Long term trend is that fossil fuels are going to get more scarce and more expensive. Corn-based ethanol is a good transitional technology, but it is not as efficient as what (for example) the Brazilians are doing with sugar cane.

We need other strategies to develop alternative fuels (like switchgrass). When JFK said we were going to the moon, no one knew how we would do it. But we had the will and focus and we got it done.

If he plays his cards wrong, he'll lose everything; however, if he continues going in the right direction, as he has so far today, I think he can use this moment to endear him to American hearts and to storm to the presidency.

Sympathetic to the need for security, but he'd like to review our policies. We are at our best when we are a confident people. Fear is at odds with good judgment. Wants to end climate of fear.

Our willingness to give away our civil liberties, warrantless wiretapping, holding people indefinitely without charges... we're not at our best when we fall prey to fear-mongering.

60. On CNN last night Obama began developing a powerful argument--there is a lot
of anger and frustration in black America, especially for those from the 60's, and it is part of Obama's job to help America transition to a less divided country, one that is better for all.

Obama is developing this this afternoon--he has the divisions built right into him, he has risen above them and so can we all.

Not a girly girl at all. I'm definitely not a girly girl and I think that may be what turns me off the most about a certain segment of Hillary devotees.

If he were to spend the next month trying to win PA and lost, it would be a big blow. If he just lets her basically have it, it won't be a suprise when she wins it, and (as the clintons would say) it won't count as much.
