Shawn Hannity: Obama should have to RESIGN from the Senate because of his ties to Wright
So now the new standard is if your a political figure and you belong to a church and your pastor says something controversial you automatically should resign from your political job. I'm sick of these FOX NEWS ass wipes like Hannity who's leading the charge of this story even Wane Williams said Obama should quit his church because of his pastor who isn't even there any more.

56. Wrong, they were the result of the verdict
Which obviously was fucked up, but does that justify it? It was ok to pull an innocent white man out of his truck and slam his head with bricks simply because he was white?

Its the words from people like Wright that fuels that hate and justifies shit like that, but because people have a problem with it they're racist.

82. Wrong the Rodney King riots were indirectly caused by the verdict.
It was not only caused by the verdict but the beating itself and a young girl being killed in a corner store and the killer getting off. People waited until after the Rodney King verdict because they knew that those cops would have been found guilty. The verdict wasn't the only cause but it was the spark that set off the LA riots.
Back on topic Obama can not be responsible for everything someone connected to him says. There is some truth in what Rev. Wright said but he could have worded it differntly.

How many white people has Rev. Wright had lynched? How many white people has Rev. Wright either intimidated or beaten to prevent them from voting? How many white people has Rev. Wright murdered for trying to assert their rights to be treated like human beings? How long has Rev. Wright's reign of terror lasted in the South?

You win the CWL Award of the night.

Edited on Sat Mar-15-08 07:00 PM by rosebud57
True they are getting up in years.

What do you call being drug behind a truck by 3 white men in June 7, 1998?

Brewer, a former jailhouse Ku Klux Klan leader, admitted he was present when James Byrd Jr. was dragged to death. But he said another man, Shawn Allen Berry, 24, slashed Byrd's throat and chained him to the truck.

Brewer acknowledged kicking Byrd and spraying his face with black paint, but he said it was a reflex action in trying to break up a fight between Byrd and King.

However, he admitted that as the truck was speeding down the road, all three men knew the exact moment Byrd's body hit a culvert and was decapitated.

Edited on Sat Mar-15-08 07:06 PM by FrenchieCat
happens all of the time.

Right now, Rev. Wright is being lynched high-tech style by those who don't know anything about him but what they have seen on some carefully selected chopped up video tapes and yet feel superior enough to demonize him cause he gets worked up about the injustices done to Americans over the course of our history, some which continues to this day.

It's like getting 20 extra years to an offender's prison sentence because the drug was crack cocaine and not powered cocaine.

It's like Oppressing the oppressed/

All that it adds up to is false Righteouness.

Unless, of course, you say something that Sean Hannity finds awful.

Sean needs to open that Bible he pretends to live by and start reading it. Even Jesus felt free enough to call down curses on the authority figures of his day. The imprecatory sermon is a time-honored piece of prophetic speech. It does cause waves because it's meant to. But Obama is no more responsible for it than Hillary Clinton is.

58. OK. McCain should resign also for his having his head up Hagee's ass.

Hagee:

"All hurricanes are acts of God, because God controls the heavens. I believe that New Orleans had a level of sin that was offensive to God, and they are — were recipients of the judgment of God for that. And I believe that the Hurricane Katrina was, in fact, the judgment of God against the city of New Orleans."

I found this but believe me; that man has said a lot worse (if that's even possible).

61. Hey Hannity....
By your logic every elected Republican with an endorsement from the Christian Coalition should also resign.

62. Hannity reminds me of Elmer Fudd: 'I've GOT you now, you wascally wabbit'
I believe that remark is going to haunt him. This may be Hannity's last crusade--at least for those dumbed-down American mass media consumers who still have medium- and long-term memory.

66. Strangely, they're able to ignore most of Ann Coulter's bile.
Strange animal, these Republicans. They don't seem to mind the smell of their own feces, yet can constantly be found sniffing about other people's to see how badly it stinks.

They think she's so witty when she starts frothing at the mouth, fantasizing about how she wants to run around beating liberals with baseball bats.

72. I can't believe someone would say something like that toward Obama.
That's crazy. He wasn't even there to see or hear him say those things and if he did he would tell the pastor his thoughts.

Hannity would have people think Obama needs a babysitter - to tell him what he can or can't listen to.

Does everyone know this isn't the only pastor to say "America deserved 9/11"? Robertson who endorsed Rudy said the same thing. So didn't Jerry Falwell.

"God continues to lift the curtain and allow the enemies of America to give us probably what we deserve," said Falwell, appearing yesterday on the Christian Broadcasting Network's "700 Club," hosted by Robertson.

"Jerry, that's my feeling," Robertson responded. "I think we've just seen the antechamber to terror. We haven't even begun to see what they can do to the major population."

So is this one set of standards for one guy opposed to another guy?

influence them. Unfortunately, I see some posts at DU by some so-called progressives who are falling for Hannity's bullshit and repeating his anti-Obama talking points.

74. Okay, then we can remove all the congresspeople that support Robertson, Falwell, Moon, etc.
That should wipe out most of the Republicans in Congress.

84. Doesn't this show just how much they want McCain / HRC to win? It is to me!
Obama is getting bombarded right now by all kinds of assaults from those who support the military industrial complex!

It only takes a little looking to see that McCain and HRC supported the Iraq War and the Kyle-Liberman bill to support going after Iran. Can HRC or McCain deny that?

Keep Vigilant! That is what our Revolutionary Forefathers said!
