I Have an Idea. Tell Me What You Think. (Nice Post... I swear!)

Okay, we get 3 posts in GD: P a day, right. So, all we seem to be doing it ripping each other apart, and honestly, how many of you really think we are doing any good to the party just tearing apart our own candidates.

So, here is my idea. In order for it to work it requires a little bit of self control and self monitoring. As "true democrats" we should be able to do this.

My proposal is to break those three posts up into the following:
1 thread attacking McCain.
1 thread saying something GOOD about YOUR candidate.
1 thread for any GD: P topic you like. (See, I'm leaving it open so you don't HAVE to bash the other candidate. Key word "HAVE")

Yes, this would have to be self policed, obviously, but come on. Isn't it getting to the point where we have to start coming back together.

Besides, if the "true democrats" on here do this you're gonna know who the trolls REALLY are.

I would think that ANY democrat could come up with AT LEAST one McCain bashing thread. He is STILL the enemy... right?

Okay, I'm gonna crash. Let me know what you think. If you agree, please try to keep this kicked so we can get as many people to at least try this.

McCain IS the enemy. Has anybody listened to the things that he has been saying over the past several days? Much of it boils down to "if you vote for Clinton or Obama, the terrorists win" or "69,000 jobs lost? Doesn't sound too terrible to me". And what about the barking mad preachers that have endorsed him? Not a peep out of the media. This is what we should be fighting. Fight together against him, not each other or either of our candidates. Both Hillary and Obama, at their very worst, are one hundred thousand times more worthy a candidate than McCain at his best.

2. I usually start at least one post a day pleading for people to

try and post something POSITIVE rather than DESTRUCTIVE (see http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x5090737). I think yours is a great idea, and one that won't pick up much steam, unfortunately. But here's to trying! :) :toast:

like on VFTW where they have a link for each American Idol. I agree, there are way too many threads on here and I'm sure we miss the good ones sometimes, especially depending upon what time of day you are on.....
